  1. Some from yesterday, Mountsorrel, Various things passing by, again excellent performance from the iPhone on the HST pics as they were doing 120mph! thats it til Saturday now, intermodal diversions from rugby
  2. So am I right when I say different gauge as the 2nd picture isn’t Bangor north wales so I assume it’s Northern Ireland on wider tracks?
  3. that didn’t work either however the link above did, oh my, I need a lie down now
  4. care to enlighten us blackpool north is notorious for jobsworth staff, ive been denied access to the platform in uniform on duty going to prep a network rail test train!
  5. Some from today, shrewsbury to Donnington terminal to landor st summerhouse crossing waiting to head along the branch the Wrekin behind the train Running round then running round again In wellington to head back toward Wolverhampton direction Got chatting to this guy while in wellington, former railwayman, why the photo with the loco? This is ‘David Gordon Harris’ himself!!
  6. you may be able to see it from the canal that runs along the back of the depot edit: looking at it on google maps its probably not viewable, you may see the top of it from the bank
  7. Swapped the alloys over earlier, really happy with how it looks now
  8. There is one coach that has lasers/lights pointing at the track, 997993, I cut down the underframe box on the coach I modified, added a piece of box section and LED lights to it I added a decoder to it too, the lights can be switched on and off separately to the interior lights (each individual coach has a decoder in) some of the coaches have underframe lights too for spotting mileposts, again I used leds, surface mount type, just drilled little holes in the frame and glued them in from behind, my coaches
  9. All sorted, the pipe to the slave cylinder had popped out, back in now, bled the fluid and up and running again
  10. Thankfully nothing major on the blue mini, put the car on axle stands and discovered the pipe going into the new slave cylinder had somehow popped out but was still in place in the cylinder, the top flange should be flush with the metal of the cylinder, took the pin out and pushed it home and have got pressure back on the pedal, my neighbour is coming round in a min to help me bleed it so should be back on the road later!
  11. my convertible was built in 2005, quite an early one I think and it was when my sister was head of quality control for her shift in Cowley, she had a look at it last year to see if it was one of her shifts cars but it wasn’t her husband worked in the design and development department in cowley mi developing the convertible mini before launch, designing parts of the electric hood mechanism amongst other bits
  12. Admittedly I agree with you, 160 to 230 bhp worth of fiddling is bound to find the weak spots in the standard equipment! touch wood the practically unmodified convertible has small issues now but is repaired cheaply but nothing like the cooper! ive just fixed the rattling exhaust on the convertible, all it was was the heat sink above the exhaust had come loose and was sitting on the exhaust and rattling, resecured that just now before jacking up the cooper to see if I can spot anything obvious
  13. except it would appear, my mini, broke again the day after payday! It appears to be clutch related, got in, foot on the clutch and it went straight to the floor without pressure and stayed there, ive only had it back a week since having a slave cylinder fitted so I’m hoping it’s just something related to that as I did have an airlock which the machanic managed to bleed but as it stands now the fluid reservoir is full and there is no sign of a leak under the car So until we can have a look in daylight it’s a bit of a mystery
  14. had a good night, nice short job for once, got back to the car that I strategically left there on Thursday to get home in, put my foot on the clutch and straight to the floor, annoying as I’ve had a new slave cylinder on it 3 weeks ago had to sit and wait for green flag to come and rescue me and get me home, defiantly locking myself in the layout room tomorrow and going to try and get trains running before I go mad!
  15. Nice quick job tonight, bescot to rugby, ran nice and early so managed to get a train back to Birmingham instead of a taxi bescot And into rugby that's it til Tuesday
  16. Only took a couple of pics the last few days, a week of Trafford park is a bit ‘samey 90002 in crewe 66787 waiting to depart manchester ballast tonight bescot to rugby, then 2 days off where I’m planning on doing a bit more on the layout before I’m back in Tuesday morning to Donnington (telford)
  17. Put some new spotlights on the cooper S earlier after the last lot got waterlogged and a few of the LEDs blew also treated myself to a set of refurbished alloy wheels, been looking at getting my white ones refurbished but managed to get these off eBay with the seller taking mine as part ex, got to get the tyres swapped off the existing rims when I have time also mucked the car out of pre lockdown crud while sat at saltley waiting for my train, found the cabin pollen filter too, I suspect it’s not been changed for a while! ive decided regard the manifold (The cat has gone on it) that I’m not going to put a stainless steel sports one on as the end of the day it’s my every day car and I can’t see the point in spending big money squeezing a few more horses out of it when all I do is use it on the motorway or around town
  18. There is a scrappy in Wolverhampton near the railway that also sells cheap cars and I noticed when I passed on the train the other day there is an Alfa GTV convertible in the lot, I found the website As I’ve bought an exhaust from them in the past but it’s not advertised on there yet, tempted to go and have a closer look I’ve got to drive to coseley later to collect some new wheels for the cooper S so may come off the motorway a junction early and have a look
  19. We’re like Ships in the night! i pulled in just as the nuneaton service left so had to go to rugby and get a train back to nuneaton where I got the same train I would have got back to crewe had I got the local! only a couple of pics from last night and this morning 66787 under the crane in Trafford park, not a good pic as all the light was the other side of the loco and this morning back in nuneaton 70803 and my train home and some videos class 88 heading to daventry class 70 heading to Mountsorrel from Carlisle and the 350 desiro units pulling in to crewe same job again tonight!
  20. The new Mini Cooper GP3 was released a few weeks back, only 3000 being produced with 575 coming to the UK, a 300 bhp, £30k supercar worrier it just got that little bit rarer, now there are only 2999 of them after this guy totalled his In his garden minutes after getting it, all for the sake of a few YouTube likes!
  21. can’t really be bothered with pics this week, same job, same loco, trafford park and back one from rainy monday this morning had to work it a bit further to Coventry as the other driver got delayed en route And off it went toward Leamington spa
