  1. sad to hear of chris’ passing eleswhere on the thread, lets hope tonfanau is able to live on somehow in his memory thought with friends and family at this time
  2. I’ll hopefully be too fast asleep to care! Must admit though with all this flooding etc I am worried about whether the train will actually run, I saw last week one night it wa as replacement bus between Edinburgh and Inverness, that I don’t want to happen!
  3. Same last night but between penyffordd and Buckley stopped in shrewsbury to wait time to head toward wrexham and away to penyffordd Lots of white levers in the box now, no junction toward Mold any more And back in craven arms this morning, was only supposed to go to shrewsbury with it but one thing and another I had to take it all the way back there off til Saturday now on a possession in Tamworth then off on the sleeper to Inverness on Sunday for a proper undisturbed week off

That’s awful, thoughts with you from all of us here at willows way cat rescue
  5. Yeah I get the same, been doing it for a while, in fact I think it may have been me who reported it
  6. The only other reference I can find to them being used by DRS is for stone flows, there are pics on Flickr of them still with Fastline branding being hauled by a pair of DRS 37s from long Marston to Kingmoor https://flic.kr/p/tgyXfy i suspect getting a pic of them with DRS branding was a lucky occurrence (even though they still look faked!)
  7. It’s certainly intriguing, I can’t remember anything in the railway press about DRS using the wagons either and the logos in the images certainly look ‘manipulated’ but if you say you saw them then who am i to disagree I know DRS in the past have done publicity things with vinyl as a one off for pics then removed, ASDA livery class 66 comes to mind
  8. I’m not convinced by those DRS wagons either! i can’t find any reference to them taking them on after fastline ended or indeed any photos, happy to be proved wrong though
  9. i only ask as hattons could do a ‘Liverpool’ limited edition model no wheels, up on bricks
  10. i really cant decide if this will be that one rake of wagons where i say, sod it and go for the full 14 wagon bundle being as i have worked these wagons for over 10 years in all their guises and ive got plenty of appropriate traction for them will hattons be selling them?
  11. I’d say that’s more likely an early 90s mini with a private plate
  12. Couple from last night, came back from my annual leave to work a craven arms to wrexham rail milling machine, same job again tonight but at hawarden 66764 and 66727 in maritime livery top and tail the train Just outside wrexham in the possession
  13. nothing will ever beat ‘my lovely horse’ from the Eurosong episode of father ted Which is actually sung by neil hannon of the divine comedy if you have ever seen the documentary about the making of father ted you find out that the video for ‘my lovely horse’ is practically a scene for scene reshoot of a genuine Irish folk duo’s video!
  14. That one has been doing the rounds for years on social media, it’s even on the ‘didn’t happen if the year award’ Twitter site as it regularly comes up on Twitter the normal reply being, and everyone in mc donalds Drive through stood up and gave her a round of applause
  15. Oh you swines! another wagon I’m going to have to get a few of in various guises, I have 1st hand experience of these having both worked them with GBRF and fastline, in fact I worked the first batch of the 100 wagon fastline order from rugby to Doncaster when they arrived via the tunnel from the manufacturer a nice little modellable train of 6 or 7 wagons, unbranded and hauled by a DRS 66 I have plenty of pics of these in various formations, full fastline, part fastline/GBRF, full GBRF DRS loco, unbranded wagons DRS loco, GBRF wagons DRS loco, Fastline wagons Fastline loco, fastline wagons Fastline loco GBRF wagons Even a fastline 56 had a go (the one and only time one worked a coal train for fastline) Metronet loco, GBRF wagons GBRF loco, fastline wagons And if you are feeling flush why not model chaddesden sidings on a Sunday morning all 5 fastline 66s and 3 complete rakes of 21 wagons, and 1 rake of 20 wagons As you can see plenty of scope for swapping and changing both wagons and locos!
  16. I made the point Back when they sold out from Hornby that non enthusiast, non modelling community wouldn’t really have known about them for the 2 days they were available back in April and now ‘those in the know’ who got hold of one (or more) have put extras up on eBay opening them up to a wider audience who are paying over the odds for one not knowing they are being overcharged compared to the original price

this cat reminds me of ray winstone for some reason!
  18. Some from last night, possession at Kingsbury, they relayed the line next to my train, the pics were just as the burning team were cutting the CWR into manageable 30ft chunks to load onto the wagons thats me until Tuesday now, thought I was annual leave for 2 weeks but I’ve been asked to work a job where no one else signs for possessions
  19. Such a shame about stafford, that was the one show I really didn’t want to see cancelled as it’s one of the best and local to me
  20. So he’s getting his gcse results next week then, after this weeks farce with the o levels I’m dreading what we’re going to see next week, thankfully he’s already got on an apprenticeship course regardless
  21. middle of June 2004? edit: so glad that was No 1 the week my eldest was born too, there were 2 songs at the top of the charts for 7 weeks prior to that, the first one was called “F**k it” by eamon which was 4 weeks at No1 and the 2nd one was called “F**k you right back” by frankee which was 3 weeks at No1 mario was No1 for a week then Britney Spears took No1 with sometimes may least he’s has a pleasant enough song for his birthday, couldn’t see Vanessa playing either of the others on her jolly good fellows birthday slot somehow
  22. Beat me to it there russ You dirty old man!
  23. im surprised the anti HS2 league havent used that!
  24. It’s along the same lines (ie as old as) as isn’t it amazing how they built the castle in Conwy with the train running through the walls
