Had to laugh yesterday, I was on the M6 toll road in the mini and a Lamborghini aventador passed me near the toll booths, we ended up alongside each other and when my barrier went up I left the lambo standing and it took him nearly 2 miles to finally get past........... the reason? when he got to the toll booth the driver couldn’t reach the card slot from the drivers seat so had to open the gull wing door and get out to put his card in

my Mini upset a Porsche 4x4 away from the lights the other week, I knew I wasn’t going to have him past a certain point but off the mark I was ahead of him until about 50mph! (Then he probably changed to 2nd gear!)

The thing with BHP is its universally understood, if I was looking at a car ans someone said it’s such and such kilowatts or Nm I wouldn’t have a clue whereas if the said it’s such and such brake horse power then I have some sort of idea/benchmark in my head and yes, I quote crank BHP as it makes it look better

Couple from last night, had to order a new dual gauge crossover for the narrow gauge line to cross the heritage line after I lost the envelope with the one I got in June in! rhe other set of points can go to a small yard and loco shed i then cut a piece of card as a template for the base to the castle for when I cut the wood but Faye had other ideas so I went back indoors and started to make up the Metcalfe castle bits, starting with the main building, took me about 3 hours to do, seriously impressed by it, particularly the windows and then went on to the gatehouse which is about 90% finished in this picture Loving the layers on the door arches, there is even a portcullis to fit nearer the end got the battlements to finish as well as a small turret and outer flank walls, then it’s on to the extra walls and small towers

Not sure to be honest but the old car at 218bhp was giving 233 Nm at 5500 rpm (at the crank) the rolling road print out for the new one shows 165 wheel BHP and I think 143 wheel torque if I’m reading it right, this car also has a LSD so it puts the power down a lot better on the curves!

Dom has been playing cyberpunk on his (well actually mine) Xbox one S and he says it’s quite smooth but now and again a car passing by goes blocky or will disappear but he seems to like it he bought himself an oculus VR the other day out of his wages, I had a quick go of recroom but was not impressed, basic graphics but is be interested to see what a proper game is like on it such as one of the Star Wars ones you can get, or even a decent driving game or flight sim he days the head set can be used with various consoles too but I’ve not looked into that, be interesting if it can be used with PSVR games as we still have a load despite selling the VR a few months back
