  1. ive just looked at his feedback left for others and he seems to be a serial complainer moaning about ‘cheap tat’ ive left a reply to the feedback, kept it civil and truthful “buyer refunded, leaves negative, refuses to change feedback then claims i sent broken items to “rip him off” i dont feel so annoyed now that ive seen his other feedback left for others, hopefully others might spot it and remove his bids
  2. There we go, 2 mins after submitting We’ve looked carefully at this feedback and see that it doesn’t qualify for removal. so basically you can base feedback on a lie, get your money back and keep the items
  3. Follow up to my negative feedback issue, I requested the buyer revise the feedback as he has had a full refund and kept the items and I got this message back “You knowingly sent me two broken guns so no I won't remove my feedback as it's completely accurate. They were clearly not broken during transport which was your excuse. You have the cheek to say your dissapointed when you attempted to rip me off!!” So I’ve requested to eBay that they remove the feedback as going by the above message the buyer thinks I sent him 2 broken items in an attempt to extort £7.50 out of him which he has had back with no questions asked and has also kept the items, he’s not been very forthcoming with info about the supposed damage to the nerf guns so who’s the one looking like they are being ripped off now! ive requested it be taken off as the feedback is based PURELY on the buyers assumption that I was trying to ‘rip him off’ I’ve not disputed the wording in so much as fact “the items were broken” as per his feedback but it’s the assumption that I sent them broken is the angle I’m going for, quite simply his feedback is based on an a whim I’ve also reported him for what I consider to be quite an abusive tone to the message, let’s see if anything happens, be nice if it does but I won’t hold my breath!
  4. after 19 years and 4100+ transactions i recieved my first negative feedback today, last week sold the best part of £1000 of model railway stuff that i was worried about having issues with in the post or sellers not being happy and all that lot arrived fine then i sell one of my lads £7 nerf guns and get a negative! had a message to say 2 of 4 items sold were damaged in the post, i agreed to a full refund and opened the return, money heading back through paypal, even told him to keep the guns to save him the hassle of returning them then i go in the feedback and he’s left me negative, not very impressed, ive sent a feedback revision request so i’m hoping they will retract it as ive resolved it to their satisfaction and they get to keep the item too which for all i know may be repairable as ive not seen any pics i know its a minor annoyance but after so long with 100% positive its flipping annoying to suddenly drop to 99.3%
  5. safest way is for him to be in the cab surely, thats what id be doing if it was me on the loco, as phil says locos arent classed as machines so dont need a banksman (for want of a better word) so no need for someone to walk in fornt but in this covid age maybe the driver or ES didnt want TO have 2 in the cab? looking at his armband i think its the ES (Engineering supervisor) so he will have most likey been to lift the worksite marker boards to let the loco in from ‘picop land’
  6. Some from last night, Hither Green to the south coast another test train passing by with GBRF 73s on Prepping the train Tamper ready to set off under dramatic skies DB 66s Away we went to Hastings Recorded to eastbourne And into Brighton (with its terrible tungsten lighting!) Back out to seaford It was then booked to go to eastbourne to change ends and head back to Hastings but there was a line block so we changed ends at Hampton park Back to Hastings And away to hither green to stable, no pics there as bed was calling! Lindon victoria, bognor and littlehampton tonight
  7. What was the unit then, as someone from north of Watford it looks like any other juice jockey/stabiliser rail unit!! nice to see the lasers in action and the infra red lights showing up on the video of the test train
  8. Staying in Greenwich, can’t fault it, cooked to order breakfast delivered to your room and decent food, right by the station so convenient to go via DLR to Lewisham for a train to hither green, quicker than a taxi
  9. Some from last night and today kings cross, couldn’t find platform 9 3/4 My train was on 7 Trundled up and down the platform for a few hours loading wagons and was done by 4am so back to the hotel just me and sir Nigel in the concourse! today I decided to go out out and get my steps in as I’m on a diet and didn’t want to sit in the hotel room all day so I walked up to the royal observatory (which is unfortunately closed due to Covid) I’ve agreed to climb a mountain with a fellow driver when I reach a certain weight but the short climb up the hill to the observatory damn near killed me so I’m gonna have to get a lot of walking in between now and then! Walked down to the cutty sark then decided to get a river clipper to the millennium dome, very impressive, I might go the other way to the London eye landing stage tomorrow This was my next mode of transport I then got the dock lands back over to cutty sark and walked back to the hotel in tonight, off to Hastings, eastbourne, seaford and Brighton
  10. It will be 37099 on it, have the same train all week, not on it tonight, colas are manning it tonight, I’m in kings cross
  11. That’s the fella @adb968008 I am down your way as it goes through Sutton and Epsom just after midnight, no doubt you will be out and about
  12. Only heading out of south london from hither green really, it’s all south coast runs the rest of the week then Friday is back to derby via the ecml again
  13. they are at the rear of the coupling behind the ‘grid’
  14. Apart from the obvious changes I was trying to put my finger in what doesn’t look right and I think it’s the lack of front handrail below the window. also I think they should have put 2 lamp brackets on, that’s going to be a pain if changing ends top and tail in a platform and the bracket is away from the platform side!
  15. saw one in southern livery on Stewart’s lane as we passed by on the viaduct above
  16. In the words of Whitney Houston “it’s not right, but it’s ok” gonna take a bit of time to grow on me that one
  17. One for mick for deadman’s lane....
  18. Some from last night before I go to bed! derby to hither green with an IM train 57 and 73 in the yard 37099 leading from derby station so on the rear from the RTC Derby station picked up a conductor at Nottingham Just outside Grantham the NMT passed by with its blue light illuminating the sky An hours wait in grantham picked up another conductor in peterborough All the way to Ferme park to change ends again over the goblin and onto the north london line before taking the southern through Kensington Olympia, Wandsworth road, Brixton and out to Orpington to change ends again and finally into hither green Possession tonight in kings cross before going back to IM the rest of the week
  19. they were aftermarket, but seriously shocking to an extent they are dangerous! I bought them off a fellow driver very cheap and I’m going. To put them on eBay later as spares or repairs as I’d be embarrassed to sell them as working headlights, best thing is brand new thay are about £300!
  20. I went to work in the white mini the other night, first time out in the dark with the different headlights fitted, managed about 2 miles then got onto a bit of road without any lighting and couldn’t see 6ft in front of me and there was no visibility to the sides, ended up going home and grabbing some tools to adjust them only to find they made no difference so intookt hen off and reverted back to the standard lights, thing is I like the blacked out look so I decided to dismantle the lights and paint them internally makes a big difference over the standard light and job done, I’ll good and I can see where I’m going too! just waiting on a black grille and spot light brackets arriving as well as a dechromed lower grille
  21. It is but Marcus is so busy in work he’s not had a chance to do anything or get in here for a while, I keep telling him people are asking about him!

    On Cats

Working on my car the other day Hank decided he wanted to supervise
  23. It could have been very embarrassing, When I mentioned it to the other driver he said he’d done the same too!
  24. while posting last night via my mobile the reply i posted stopped uploading, the progress bar stopped for about a minute and i got a rmweb server error message screen, however when i came back to it a little later and i noticed the post had actually gone up as per normal this morning however on the time line it was showing as the last post in my thread was 21 hours ago and the expanded view showed what id written at the start of that message however when i clicked on the thread the later post from last night was showing as an "unread post" however there were no reactions to it, normally i get someone liking it within a few minutes, also refreshing the page still kept it as "unread" ive ended up editing the original post to show it blank (with and explanation why) and cut and paste the wording into a new post that is now showing up as normal, and has likes after 10 mins so i suspect the original post may not have actually been visible to anyone other than me this is a link to the post below it, can anyone see the post above that says: EDIT: posting went funny while uploading! https://www.rmweb.co.uk/community/index.php?/topic/70783-jim’s-“out-and-about-with-gbrf”-thread/&do=findComment&comment=4425679 EDIT: just seen andy's status update, i suspect it may have been something to do with the server restart at 02:00 this morning, wonder if other posts are showing to the author but not actually visible to others?
