  1. That’s the other reason I’m thinking about coming back on the train Did the plans to build a new path from the bridge to the harbour ever come to anything?
  2. I’m not a glutton for punishment! as for the red mini, those sparco seats I got in January feel much comfier now I’m not as wide
  3. Just a short one tonight, 5 times round the park, for some reason it didn’t record my location though
  4. I’d be worried it comes with so many spares!
  5. I’m planning on coming down to Llwyngwril soon and going from there to Barmouth via penrhyn drive to the point and turn back through fairbourne then over to Morfa mawddach and the over Barmouth bridge then get the train back (or do it in reverse and brave the climb back up friog bank!)
  6. Just a few from last night, bescot to oxley to change ends then to site at crane st jn, back on the same train tomorrow bescot running round in oxley, had 10ft in front of me to the signal And the other end was about 2ft from the signal!
  7. A run round the park earlier for Couch to 5k, 30 mins in total, 10 mins running and 20 walk and warm up/cool down gonna have a short trip out on the bike later this evening too
  8. As well as that ride I ended up adding to it on the way in i had to change trains at rugeley trent valley so instead of carrying the bike over the bridge I got on it and rode to rugeley town station, another 1.4 miles and then when I got to Walsall I got off there and rode the final bit to bescot the long way round, almost another 4 miles to the tally (that bit was taking my life into my own hands though, scary drivers round Walsall!)

Here’s a still from our ring cam of Lola reminding me I need to buy a new pencil sharpener!
  10. Couple of things today, the roof rack has arrived for the white car so I’m ready for some further afield adventures, must remember it’s on there though if I’m driving under low bridges or car park barriers! and I did my first proper commute today, home to the station, was going to leave the bike there but I’ve took it on the train and will ride the last couple of miles from Walsall to bescot hopefully
  11. Got the tracking done today, the garage were happy to use a bit of heat on the seized track rod ends and they managed to free them so that’s saved me replacing them! so the steering wheel is now in line and it doesn’t tramline and pull to the left next up, taking the red mini there for the same but first I’ve got to get the adjustable top mounts fitted on the front
  12. nothing yet, i have got a load of scenics from the classifieds on here that will spur me on to get on with it but with the nice weather and my new bike ive been spending the evenings out cycling and (trying to) run
  13. Do you catch the 3 x 97s going the other way about a minute after I passed by?
  14. Not discussed exercise with anyone, just cracking on with it myself, I’ve got a Hussle gym membership on hold so if I re-activate that I can use the local pools and gyms but as it is at the moment I’ve found something I enjoy doing and it’s not costing me anything, will be a different story come winter though will have to switch to indoor activities!
  15. I’m glad this thread has opened up a discussion on all things regarding diabeties, healthy living and exercise, something that a lot of people my age don’t discuss until it’s too late and you either like me become diabetic or worse still have a heart attack or something don’t mind the thread diversion as there is only so much I can put up about my own experience and what I’m doing to make things right anyway this evening I did day 2 of couch to 5k, going by the questions I answered when setting it up it has started me on week 3 so today was 26 mins total with 8 mins running and I covered 1.42 miles I then went out on the bike again covering the same route as yesterday but with an extra lap of the park at the end, I was inspired by the comments yesterday that it was a good pace so I wanted to see if I could improve on it, I won’t lie the electric helps a lot and it would be no where near as quick on a normal bike but today I had it in the lowest assistance setting for 95% of the ride hopefully the roof rack will arrive tomorrow for the mini so I can get further afield on it, quite fancy doing hadfield to woodhead!
  16. I’ve had a buyer get in touch yesterday to say Hermes have left his parcel with a neighbour however none of them know anything about it! having looked at the Hermes site I can see a photo of the exact location it’s been left (inside someone’s shed), the drivers name, time it was left and even a GPS pin drop location showing it as being somewhere within about 10m of his address, the long and short of it is it’s been delivered and one of his neighbours must still have it or possibly not even be aware it’s been left in the said shed (it’s not little either, a spoiler for a Mini) what’s bothering me is he’s going through eBay resolution centre to say claim the item hasn’t been delivered which is fair enough as it keep it within ebay but knowing what they are like I can see them siding with him and giving him a refund for it despite all the above proof it’s been delivered to his street and signed for by a neighbour and them giving him a refund I know that’s maybe being a bit over dramatic but I’ve lost faith in ebay actually listening to sellers so fully expect to lose my money and the buyer get to keep the items too when one of his neighbours shows up with it at a later date as for Hermes can you see them paying out on a claim for the item (fully insured) as, as far as they are probably concerned it’s been delivered with proof, if it’s gone missing after someone has taken it in then it’s not really their problem
  17. Some from today, last minute change of job, ended up with a bescot-Donnington-Landor st job via crewe and shrewsbury both ways bescot My train Unusually conveying a VKA wagon too and back to landor st Engineers train tomorrow night in Wolverhampton
  18. That’s the scary bit, you don’t realise until you have it and get told by the doctor that you could lose a toe or foot, similarly it could cause eye problems too
  19. people probably said the same about previous generations of fiesta too but wish they still had them now! I had an E reg one back in about 2005 that I gave £350 for it to use instead of my jag S type, manual choke on it too, absolute minter, bought off a neighbour who got it for his daughter who didn’t get on with it, wish I still had that now! i like the previous fiesta to the one in the pic, about a 2005-2007 one, particularly the ST in lime green we get a lot of fiestas as hire cars, they are a good little (or not so little now) car, quite nippy as well as economical
  20. i put a playlist on via my Apple Music, the first song, Cher, all or nothing, with the chorus line “I don’t wanna run......”
  21. Wednesday is weigh in day for me, today I am 19.12 Stone so I’m now under 20 Stone! 4lb lost last week so the extra exercise certainly made a huge difference just been out for a quick spin on the bike, Nantwich and back with a couple of laps around the park at each end, 7 1/4 mile total tomororw should be fun, day 2 of couch to 5k and I’m in work so will have to pack my trainers and do it up and down the yard in Donnington!
  22. Today I thought I’d take it easy as my bum was still a bit numb, did just short of 9 miles on the bike and I’m going to have a couple of mile walk in a bit too as it’s glorious up here at the moment heading home tomorrow so the cycle rides won’t have as much spectacular scenery but I’m lucky in so much as the national cycle path runs at the end of our street toward Nantwich where I was thinking of taking the towpath toward audlem
