  1. The Slug explosion was a news item on the BBC news yesterday. I think it was used as an antidote to all the depressing national and global political news. Perhaps Farage could be tasked on repelling the "slug invasion problem".... The worst moths are the house/clothes moths that come into the house looking for natural fibres to lay their eggs on and their larvae to feast upon. I've been spotting one or two a day, fluttering around in their obscene manner, abdomen dangling as they beat the air. At least if you manage to squash them there is a brown smear of dust from their wings that dusts off, and if you swat them with one of those electrocuting fly swat bats, there's a smell of burning dust as they sparkle on the grid. One thing I've noticed is that they have an evasive action, if a failed attempt is made on them, they do a crash dive of several feet and try to flutter away, especially if they've been resting on a wall. Its easy to catch them when they do this, I poke them with a ruler and they drop. Right onto the electric bat I'm holding below them. Crackle-crackle, dead. I'm not fond of insecticides in a domestic environment, insecticides might also harm the spiders...
  2. Echo Beach - Martha and the Muffins
  3. Spanish Train - Chris de Burgh
  4. Especially as Kim "Haircut 100" was in the audience. I'm surprised he didn't have the lot taken out and disappeared afterwards. Perhaps he did...
  5. Looking at the prominent bolts on the face of the turning gear, and that the gear is split, perhaps it is removed rather than the worm, which seems fairly permanently mounted?
  6. I almost misunderstood the "standing to attention" bit...
  7. Slow Hand - Pointer Sisters
  8. Thats just WORRYING.....
  9. Only 12 hours and 35 minutes to go.... There are two types of Hornby 67s, the full-fat one tooled by Hornby, and the Railroad one that came from Lima. I've examples of both, Cairn Gorm with TTS sound and Diamond Jubilee. The difference is easily spotted, you can see through the body grills on the main range locos, you can't on the Railroad ones. Chalk and cheese!
  10. Bobby must be still a bit green....
  11. He looks rather unhappy..... Diddums!
  12. Perpetual Motion - Procol Harum
  13. Having looked at the cat photos in the "On Cats" thread, I'd suggest that many cats have discouraging expressions..... Probably its because their "servants" are not doing as the cats wish! I've pinched a recent contribution to illustrate what I mean... Definitely a discouraging cat!
  14. Radio Radio - Elvis Costello & the Attractions
  15. No one has, we don't need the fluffy danglers, and tax discs haven't been issued for years! I was worried when PB mentioned them, is he regressing? 🤔
  16. They also like to hide in bridges and tunnels, and view trains as some species of mouse to bat at with their paws...
  17. And have a prominent reminder to switch it off before you leave the building...
  18. They do need to go on about now... 🤪
  19. Good lord! The Apparatchicks ALL look like Chalky, the schoolteacher in Giles cartoons... Spooky!!!
  20. I Just Can't Be Happy Today - The Damned
  21. It might work. You could also construct wooden frames with fly mesh to fit the open window and door apertures. This might discourage the mogs and also keep flying insects out!
  22. Earlier, I suggested a TT:120 train pack containing a green 08, some wagons and a brakevan. this could also be delivered as an "Inglenook" trainset, containing points, track and an instruction booklet about inglenook layouts and how they work. Of course, this might be advanced thinking for Hornby, who can't move beyond an oval with a siding. With a bit of sideways thinking, they could also look at separate complete track packs, like the Inglenook or a ready to go Minories*, for example. Neither would take up excessive space in TT:120 and would help get new entrants to the hobby away from the pernicious oval. * With a reprint of the CJ Freezer article in RM from April '57 and with FULL instructions on how to emulate it using the track provided.
  23. Or its a genetic trait passed down through the generations!
  24. Any idea what the signal flag being flown by the lighthouse sculpture means? Its not a recognisable maritime signal flag!
  25. and How do I connect my phone/tablet to it? It's USELESS!!! Its all part of showing that fun can be had without electronics or social media (sic). 🙂
