  1. Forgot it was Yorkshire Day. As I'm in York, I'll wear my red rose lapel badge with pride today...
  2. Time for the traditional White Rabbits! Even if the aforesaid rabbits* are soaking wet. Yes! This morning has started with a torrential downpour, which should taper off by 10 am. Then back to more sun, though the rain should clear the air a bit! * @iL Dottore Any suggestions on how to cook the white rabbits from your knowlegable taxi driver? 🤔
  3. Ordinary punters DON'T! Its the arty-farty foodies that insist on sticking the artis-anal label on stuff that hasn't been taken ready-made from the freezer...
  4. Another RMweb photocopier error?
  5. Here Comes The Sun - The Beatles
  6. I hope the Tardis doesn't get a disfunctional glow plug, the regeneration function already seems to be problematic...
  7. I've a photo somewhere of a Windhof* MPV in that platform too! * Something like that...
  8. Don't talk to me about bells, I've ended up with three Grandsires....
  9. I suppose I feel :-( because I've been using my bus pass to get around York this week instead of paying £2 a day...

  19. Today I visited the NRM, and noticed that the museum had placed a wreath and plaque commemorating Sir Kenneth on the HST power car, which I thought was a nice touch.

  22. @Tony_S No matter where you roam, its always nice to get back home! I'm on my hols at present, but it'll be good to be back in my own bed on Friday...
  23. @Erichill16 Today wasn't a good day to be in York, hot, sticky, crocodiles of tourists following a bloke/blokess with a banner, a gang in the Minster going bonkers on the bells... Visited the NRM after a long interval, very disappointed, though pre-warned by earlier posters. Lets put it this way. Long queue to climb some steps to look inside "Mallards" cab. No queues for "Duchess of Hamilton" next door, or for "Evening Star", where they'd have seen the same sort of gubbins... Lots of very bored teenagers playing with their phones. At the back was a feeding station separating two shop areas, the left hand one for youngsters, the right hand for adults, both with much Flying Moneypit merchandise. Just an update. A nice touch was the positioning of a wreath and plaque on the front of the HST power car "Sir Kenneth Grange" to commemorate the designers passing earlier this week. May have a little snooze...
  24. Apparently the French have incorporated a small fragment of the Eiffel Tower* into all the Olympic medals. Eventually they'll rust.... * Recovered during renovation work, so not the highest quality metal!
  25. We all know thats so, its just wise not to draw attention to it!
