I don't think its the models as such, but the boxes are smelling a bit "musty". We had a discussion here when the "musty smell" first appeared, and came to the conclusion that they had been sold to Hattons by the sort of bloke who attends exhibitions wearing a ratty, stained old parka, with an equally unpleasant rucksack.... Perhaps they're hoping that a buyer with no sense of smell snaps them up!
  3. So how did the product development team KNOW that the contents of camel balls were "extra sour" in the first place???
  4. I've been good this year, I still haven't taken the choccy for today out of its little drawer....
  5. I should imagine that preparation involves ensuring that it is at the correct temperature, and some judicious pre-sampling for quality control purposes...
  6. It appears that Hornby are having problems with the Advent Calendar this year. There are some concerned posts on their comments section, apparently the Corgi, Airfix and Scalextric advent calenders have been affected too. https://uk.Hornby.com/community/blog-and-news/competitions-1/Hornby-advent-calendar Hey ho....
  7. Thats the delux version with the built in entertainment system* interface... * Another optional extra!
  8. No wonder that by the end of the decade a politician would be able to claim that we'd "never had it so good". BMC was able to sell cars with winscreens as standard, not an optional extra!
  9. Thanks to Storm Elin*, the Dalek** incarcerated in a corner of my back garden attempted to make a break for freedom last night. Sadly it tripped and I found it rolling about, frustrated and angry. Now that the rain has stopped, I may return it to its place. Perhaps after lunch? Muahahahaha!!! * Apparently another fancy of the Irish meterological service. ** A conical composting bin. I may decorate it with sink plungers, broom handles etc...
  10. A terrific stab at a typical early 50s British car Just one very minor point..... Your windscreen wiper blades seem slightly too long...... 🤔 Due to post-war import restrictions, things made of rubber tended to be made as small as feasible. It also explains skinny tyres..... 🤪

    Or its flux capacitor overloaded!
  12. Which is why I clear my search history very frequently....
  13. But some people don't like Scotch, though I suppose it could be used to help light the Yule Log...
  14. Riding out the gale with a large mug of drinking chocolate with added cinnamon syrup and some "seasonal*" music on the hifi... * Not the usual carols, "pop" stuff, etc... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=rtpYyH4q8p0

You'd have to be confident in your manual dexterity to use it....
  16. Are those the clanging chimes of doom?
  17. The Irish Sea coast has been "rather blowy" since late afternoon... I can imagine things might be a bit queasy on Fraggle Rock!
  18. If you have an auto-fitted 14xx, you can couple your autocoaches on either side, simples!
  19. These spiders are getting bigger and bigger...
  20. I don't have a pannier, but I do have two Dapol O gauge 14xx, one in BR black(early crest), one in BR green(late crest) and a Dapol Autocoach that'll go with both! Got them all from Hattons for very reasonable prices, better than ebay... Forgot two things. The first is that the black 14xx was also DCC fitted and still a bargain, the second is that I also have a Dapol O gauge Class 08, bought in a fit of enthusiasm a number of years ago. I joined the Dapol collectors club to get it relatively cheaply!
  21. Just got back in from a soggy trip to get my ears lowered for Christmas. Quick trip around Sainsbugs and picked up a reduced box of xmas cards as the ones I have in stock are too bulky (IMHO) to post. I'm now having a very late breakfast and will inscribe the cards for posting this afternoon. It feels a bit chilly about my ears, I might have another mug of coffee and put the CH on for a while...
  22. Keeping quiet also means you don't get accused of eyeing up the relatives in their favour....

See my revised post.... It was more The Johnsters territory than up in North Wales! I've no idea why my brain decided it was Wrexham* before I did any factfinding. I blame it on sleepfogging... * But a Wrexham - Chirk axis IS more comedic!

Which is odd, considering that Viagra was trialled (apparently) in Wales, though I appreciate that Merthyr Tydfil is some distance from Chirk... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-67417111
