  1. Its like the old mother in law joke: Hey Bill, there's three blokes mugging your mother in law, aren't you going to help? Nahhhh. Three should be able to do it....

OR Marklin produced both clockwork and electric versions and there was no reason to produce different back cab sheets. Missing bits and untested. A tad overpriced?
  3. Its finished? Hurrah!!! (I see Corrie beat Eastenders, which has to count for something...)
  4. Internet bandwidth is expensive. A website can't afford to have the excess hanging around for traffic that turns up once or twice a year. Its possible to draw on extra bandwidth through the hosting provider for these odd spikes (aymod is the person here who knows about these things) but they do need to be arranged for. On the other hand, some webmasters don't seem to be on the ball. Or like Generals, they plan for the previous war...
  5. But he looked so happy...
  6. You mean you left Donk home alone??? For shame!
  7. Or, re-arrange the following words into an unacceptable '"newspaper headline"... bolts, washers, screws, nuts. Ithenkyow!!!! 🤪
  8. Interesting. Now I appreciate that Top Gear is an entertainment programme, nothing is done scientifically and that Clarkson hams it up for the camera, but one of their stunts was to drive a diesel Audi A8 from London to Edinburgh, and back (800 miles), on one tank of fuel, which was apparently achieved. Then there was the Basel to Blackpool stunt, where Clarkson drove a diesel Jaguar X358 on the proverbial one tank without any particular economy tactics for most of the journey. I know, huge pinches of Siberia are required to take the results as completely genuine, but the main point is that even if refuelling was required, a 5 minute stop would solve the problem, not a longer wait for recharging to be accomplished. I'll stick with my Yeti until it dies from natural causes, the mot is too costly to rectify or the government/insurance/road tax/lack of fuel/my health drives it off the road! Of course, if I won the lottery (fat chance)...
  9. For a given value of "true", naturally...

And why is the Incredible Hulk cabbing it? These questions must be asked! I suspect that if the two gears are not "connecting", then another is missing, may be difficult to replace and its not as simple to remedy as the vendor suggests. I may be wrong! 🙂
  11. That was before shipping lines announced they wouldn't be transiting the Red Sea due to terrorist actions. If they have to go the long way round rather than by Suez, then a couple of weeks may need to be added. OTOH we may be in luck and the ship got through before the problem arose...
  12. You will when someone does the Full Audi/BMW...
  13. @polybear There's not much to choose between The Ginger Whinger and Morgan the Organ, is there...

Weathering... 🤪 Apart from that its a pretty rough example. Puzzling that its got a Dublo coupling on the front and a tl one on the tender!
  15. Back from the fang farriers, with a scheme of work for the beginning of January. Its going to be painful... Mug of tea and a mince pie for consolation!
  16. Sounds interesting, but as I don't do Netflix, I won't be watching it! As for WAW, its a landmark series, but getting long in the tooth nowadays.
  17. Considering what gets pumped into the sea from "treatment" works, a bit of personal ad hoc relief is neither here nor there...
  18. I expect the water is chlorinated, so "Code Yellow" isn't so much of a problem....
  19. As many peasants rapped as I can be bothered with, got a call from the dentists inviting me to come in this afternoon rather than in a weeks time. I expect they want to "P1ss off early, its almost Christmas" next week!
  20. The edit was to visit the website to check the gauge before the n/g comment was made!
  21. Peasant wrapping beckons.... Hey ho!
  22. Petrol? Are you sure, the chimney a third in from the left looks as if it belongs... But interestingly odd. It would look good in a narrow gauge setting...
  23. They all remind me of Michael Foot. Scary!!!
  24. It'll give Hornby practice for 9th January at 9am when the new products for 2024 are announced...
