  1. A substitute bin lorry has just turned up and the bins emptied. Hurrah! And the sun is scintillating in the sky after last nights wild blow. 🤪
  2. Our bins (general waste) were supposed to be emptied yesterday. They weren't. Bin lorry has just been round, bins still not emptied. I think the lorry wasn't working properly, the refuse operatives were clustered around the back, poking at things... Scintillating stuff, eh?
  3. There was a weird bloke in Liverpool who used to be called Cherry Blossom as the method he used to disguise his thinning grey locks looked as if he had applied a tin of shoe polish to his head.... Or so I was told!
  4. I think that example means "plus added aggro from the Gestapo-like staff".
  5. You'll only be fooling yourself. I invested in one of those fairground mirrors....

I thought sheep wagons had higher sides to stop the silly bu@@ers finding the new way to commit suicide?

I didn't know that the L&MR used those knuckleduster couplings? "She won't couple Sam!" (Apologies to The Titfield Thunderbolt...)
  8. I wonder what its PIN number is?

Charitably, its probably Fat Finger syndrome.
  10. The Americans didn't say anything about water....

Schrodinger's Cat goes out for the evening... https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-68091914
  12. I'm going to give this wheeze of microwaving a teabag a whirl this afternoon!
  13. Its rather like one of the games in "Only Connect"... I make one line to be "FINE-HIPPO-IN-CHARGE" 🤪
  14. True. You can also do a rain dance as well as pray. I've found it most effective...
  15. I've always found it advisable to find something to do to avoid both painting AND gardening!
  16. Fish Spas are not banned in the UK, though they apparently are in parts of the US and Canada. They also use a species called Garra Rufa, rather than Tilapia. Some info Don't think I want my tootsies nibbled by a shoal of fish...
  17. Dunno about AIDS, but it was definitely some sort of health scare. Veruccas? Athletes Foot? I don't think it was the fish as such, more the water as a medium for transfer.
  18. I saw "salted tea" as an item (see page 7) in passing on this mornings Daily Star front page, but didn't investigate further. I've recently sampled salted drinking chocolate, which was vile. Whoever thought up salted tea should be strung up below the low tide mark and left to consume as much salted water as they desire...
  19. I suppose the Tilapia are useful for teasing out small flakes of skin. Of course Piranha would be more suited to digging out recalcitrant corns and case-hardened heels. It all relies on the correct training.... Nowadays, of course, they use those rotary files that spread a fine layer of sanded skin all over the place. eg: https://www.scholl.co.uk/products/expert-care-velvet-smooth-foot-file Yuck!
  20. I'm pleased to report that this years Cadbury Creme Eggs are the same weight (42g) as last years Creme Eggs and so are not suffering from "shrinkflation". However, I suspect that the price for an individual "egg"/box of 5 "eggs" has probably been increased, but at least that's honest!

It looks like someone stood on it! Here's another woeful Hornby O gauge clockwork loco https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/335219403996 Again, rather bent around the cab end, and if that's in fair condition... I like the optimistic claim that its "Power Type" is AC, unless the vendor imagines that means All Clockwork! 🤣
  22. The underwater one was "interesting". People peeing in a swimming pool is bad enough!
  23. The way OFCOM are currently talking, Royal Mail will be able to deliver mail whenever they feel like it. Or even if they feel like doing a delivery run...

As its got tension lock couplings, I'd be inclined to say it's HO, the O gauge loco had Hornby Dublo style couplings.
  25. And the second Hattons shop was yards from the "Penny Lane" roundabout... Steeped in History.
