  1. Who provided the sound file? I have the Coastal DCC one and it’s pretty decent, albeit it has the wrong horns. Engine noises sound bang on though.
  2. I had a brief chat with Roderick yesterday when placing my pre-order and he mentioned this - I take high-tenders to mean the standard 3450 gallon GER tenders, with additional coal rails which he explicitly mentioned as applying to the LNER examples. The BR ones have the same tender but without additional coal rails, but I’m no expert on the tender detail differences across the class’ life, so would welcome the views of others. Of the two BR numbers that are offered, I couldn’t find any photos of them paired with the smaller tender usually paired with J15’s and E4’s (and of course some J17’s at different times), and can’t imagine Roderick would’ve picked those numbers if he was only doing the smaller tender for the BR models. As an aside, delivery due January 2025 onwards.
  3. Just reading the latest edition of Model Rail that came through the post yesterday, and I see that OO Works are doing an LNER J17! Link to order here: https://www.ooworks.co.uk/products Can’t believe it, very very happy, will be getting an order in pronto! I did check on the forum for a topic and couldn’t see one, my apologies if this is a duplication.
  4. Not for me but very nice, as someone who doesn’t know my LMS/MR I thought this was a 2P initially. BrLocoDatabase reckons some were allocated to Kettering or Leicester, did these make it to Cambridge out of interest?
  5. These look really good and will be as popular as the Genesis coaches I expect. I won’t be buying from the first run, but should they do post-war plain LNER/Stratford brown in future, I will definitely have a pair. Look forward to seeing how this develops.
  6. Didn’t get round to ringing in the end, but I got my invoice through this afternoon so all good, look forward to receiving mine.
  7. Nice, I’ll have one or two of these for my East Anglian layout. Cheers Rapido!
  8. Not for me personally, but can see this absolutely flying off the shelves, hope it’s a nice earner for Rapido. Think someone predicted an Ivor set in the froth thread, did they not?!
  9. No mention of the lighting bars, which is what I’m waiting on for my LNER pair. I’ll give them a ring in the morning and report back for anyone interested.
  10. They look excellent, really whetting the appetite. I spy a green machine next to them, did you get any photos of those by any chance?
  11. The 175’s will replace the HST’s, cascade the 80x units used on regional services back to routes out of London and provide some extra capacity. The 150’s are going nowhere as it stands and will remain working off Exeter and on the Cornish branches.
  12. They’ve announced an N gauge Class 45/46. Not for me, but bet there will be some pleased N gauge modellers!
  13. Will D5549 be available again to pre-order at some point direct from A/S, similar to the Blue ones? I have a preorder with another retailer but wouldn’t mind switching to take advantage of the A/S points. No worries if not, just thought I’d ask. 🙂
  14. I’d rather your guess of the E4 was correct than my Marcia guess!
