  1. We have probably seen each other on several occasions. Were you at TVNAM? I haven't actually been to a Freemo meet, and Merstham is closer than Armitage!
  2. 60 miles? Spitting distance. Come along to the Oxted Model show tomorrow. I am exhibiting Tilley Yard South. It would be good to meet you.
  3. Good Morning all, My name is Rob, I'm 30 and live in Camberley, Surrey and work in Chessington, Surrey. My main modelling interests are HO North American, but I also model Gn15 and SM32. I'm also interested in photography, owning classic cars and play bass guitar in a 4 piece function band. I have a wife of 3 years and a son, 20 months old this month. That's me in a nut shell.
  4. Thanks Jack. Really enjoying the tug discussion, it is really helping me with the planning for the new one (track plan has been made, experiments are underway). This one is going to be a little bit bigger....
  5. The attack of the 50 ft boxcars! Accurail kit. Started out as a Great Northern car.
  6. Thank you Andy. Sadly I didn't get the chance to come over and be introduced to the dark art that is 3D printing. I hope you were well received.
  7. That was partly the inspiration Jack I first saw it on Carl's website and thinking "Bu**er me, that is clever"
  8. That is a gorgeous tug. I was going to get the Walthers tug kit. I will be using flat cars as reacher cars as the track on the float is plastic code 83.
  9. I thought it was: c*ckwomble, ar*ebadger then hoofw**king bunglec**t?
  10. Wet paint?....I would never arrive with paint still wet! I will start painting when I arrive instead.
  11. Haha! I did consider the Bachmann one briefly before I saw that Athearn were releasing their own version, and knowing Bachmann's track record with prototype inaccuracies ( such as that the ATSF version of the crane should not have the small caboose on the tender car), I think going with Athearn was the better bet. Some Bachmann stuff is OK (the S4 being pretty good) and I have 2 boxcars from them.
  12. Daniel Beresford! Shame on you! Don't you know TVNAM is more important than ANY birthday celebration! No, that's fair mate. I'll let you off....this time. It has changed quite a bit since Farnham, and I have got much, much hairier.
  13. I love exhibiting especially at TVNAM. Everyone is just so friendly and because it is specifically North American you generally get a different kind of punter. Nick always does a bloody good job of getting it all together.
  14. Very different. Took me less than an hour to get to that point. Most of it was pre-painted. I will be painting the rest tonight hopefully.
  15. You are lucky to be modelling a shortline. A start has been made on the Blacksmith car. Such a short car!
