I have been trying to work out on Google Maps how those views look today, either the areas have changed completely or I am looking in the wrong place!

Stupidity on another level yesterday on the Airdrie to Bathgate line, 334016 hit a 4x4 that the Police believe to have been stolen and deliberately driven onto the tracks at Uphall. The moron who did this should be charged with attempted murder. Thankfully the unit only suffered superficial damage and one passenger was slightly injured.

Just received a copy of David Spaven's "The Railway Atlas of Scotland" (two hundred years of history in maps). It is not supposed to be published until tomorrow!!
Only had a chance to skim through it but it looks like an absolutely fabulous book.

The Middle photo is between Newton and Cambuslang on the West Coast Main Line, that is Westburn Cemetery in the background, the bottom one I think is just to the east of Maxwell Park Station on the Cathcart Circle
