  13. Very unusual colour of sky, especially picture C6868, blue isn't a common shade associated with West Highland photographs, And the ground is dry - very unprototypical!!!! Great photos. Jim

I have been building an island platform building for Mavisbank, originally it was going to be based on a Lanarkshire and Dunbartonshire style building, but it has morphed into a more generic Caledonian building with no fixed prototype. So far, both end pieces were completed at the weekend so I managed to build the station up tonight. I forgot about the small windows in the Gents toilet so I need to finish that off. Need to start on the roof now. Jim
  15. The longest regular journeys by 1st Generation DMU in Scotland would haven been Aberdeen to Inverness, which is about 105 miles and took over two and a half hours, using class 120s. Glasgow to Stranraer is slightly less distance and was about the same time, using class 126 DMUs. There was one "fast" DMU service from Glasgow to Oban which ran via the WHL to Crianlarich prior to the Callander route closing (again about 105 miles), think that used class 101s and would have been a real marathon.
