  8. Where is the segment titled "writing pointless posts (like this one) on forums and indulging in long cantankerous arguments about manufacturers faults/merits of various scales and gauges"
  9. A superb layout that brings back many memories of working in the steel industry, I worked for British Steel Tubes Division at Clydesdale Works, Mossend from 1975 to 1986. Your model of the multi-faceted ingot looks very like the ones produced in the Electric Arc "Steel Side" before being transported to the tube mills. Jim.
  10. It certainly beats the awful remake with Tom Cruise, but it would be nice to have a film version that reflects the book's original story set in England. There was talk that Jeff Wayne's musical version was to be made into a film, but nothing came of that jim
  11. As a regular spotter at Glasgow Central in the 1970s I was aware that old traditions died hard with all WCML locomotives being serviced at Polmadie, but locomotives (mainly Peaks) for the former GSWR line via Kilmarnock were serviced at Corkerhill. Jim
  12. Can I get the prototype figure to go with Barclay No 10? :-) Jim
  13. Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life - Monty Python
  14. No, not a photo of Dave's Layout - The real Haymarket Depot on Saturday 24th August 1985. There was an open day at the depot that day, and this was the "out of bounds area" taken from the fence Jim
  15. I find Liam Neeson Films are either great or awful, "Taken" is still one of my favorite movies, but the sequels were dire (2 more so than 3). But the one that I really found totally pointless was "The Grey", described as a survival movie (spoiler alert - nobody survives) at the end of the film I really thought, what the hell was that all about, not my idea of entertainment. Jim
  16. Q: What has 2 wings and a halo? .. Groan button at the ready......... A: A Chinese telephone, Wing-wing, halo?
  17. Actually I have noticed recently that these so called pound shops are increasingly selling products that cost more than a pound (Multipacks of Cola = £2) and perfumes/aftershaves for considerably more. Think they are having to adapt to meet the competition from places like B&M and others Jim
  18. What Is And What Should Never Be - Led Zeppelin
  19. Couple of observations 1) Scots need not bother as they most likely wont be there (yet again) 2) Would be handy for the English Fans as the sound of the baby crying will drown out their own wailing as they lose yet another penalty shootout :-)
  20. Has it been on tour in the USA and Australia?
  21. Thanks for sharing the Troon Photographs with us, Troon is a bit of a home from home from me as I have a caravan at Prestwick. The Harbour branch has been completely obliterated and without some historical knowledge would be hard to trace. Here is the view today, only the gable end of the tenement gives the point of reference. Would love to see more if you have them Jim
  22. Hall of the Mountain Grill - Hawkwind
  23. How about some nice Dutch Preserved Steam? Hoorn Station, on the Hoorn Medemblik Steam Railway Keep it Wild! Jim
