  4. Listen for the absolute howlers in Trainspotting 2! In the scenes shot around the "Port Sunshine" pub you see class 334s running past, (the actual pub is in Clydebank), only they have dubbed the sound of HSTs! Jim
  5. I was thinking about this the other day, I think that the preserved lines will snap up pacers when they are finally decommissioned, like them or loath them they would be very useful to a preserved line as they are simple and easy to maintain, four of the original 141s are already in preservation at the Weardale Railway, Colne Valley Railway and Midland Railway Centre. Now who in their right mind would preserve a Voyager?? Jim

  12. According to IMDB it is Fairfax Road level crossing, Bushy Park Road, Teddington. Jim
  13. St Pancras also features (incorrectly) in the 1978 film "The Fourth Protocol". The KGB agent being pursued by Michael Caine is said to be traveling by rail from London to Colchester, yet he is shown catching the train at St Pancras instead of the correct Liverpool Street Station. Jim
  14. The 2001 "Made for TV" version has to be the worst, it used the VSOE Pullman Cars hauled by an EWS class 47! Jim

  19. One undeveloped feature of high speed rail is connectivity at the stations, especially for business travelers. I travel a lot on business, in the UK that usually means air, because I can drive to the airport, park up and walk to the terminal, board the plane and fly to my destination where my hire car will be waiting for me to drive to the company I am visiting, which may be around 50 miles from the airport. That connectivity is rarely available with rail, few if any stations have hire car facilities, car parking is limited and not very secure and it is still more expensive so my company will not sanction it. Jim
  20. Of course we all know how to find the illegitimate ones... You turn the bag upside down and the bar-stewards fall out
  21. Dave - As I have pedantically pointed out on a few threads, since 1969 it has been a requirement for all forklifts to be fitted with an overhead guard, so your depot forklift is incorrect for the timescale of your layout. the H&S officer will be round shortly to deliver a prohibition notice Jim
