Shields Depot this afternoon
Snatched photo from a passing train, one of the preserved Deltics in for a spot of tyre turning probably.
Livery comparison, Strathclyde Red was not too different to the Greater Manchester Livery, unrefurbished example returned to Scotland, could have been 048 later to be returned to Caley Blue.
307130 round the back of Shields Depot in January 1991. I have seen photographs of 307117 at Edinburgh so I know it got out and about, not sure if 307130 ever traveled further afield in Scotland, 307130 later found work on the Doncaster to Leeds line
307117 is the odd one out among the usual Scottish Classes, 303s, 320s, and 318s with a green and cream Mk2 thrown in for good measure, This is the only 307 I have seen other photographs of in Scotland, as it sat in Edinburgh Waverley for a while. The Unit had black window surrounds at one end only.
Another loco into the depot for tyre turning, 37404 "Ben Cruachen"
