  1. All change overnight, working from home this morning as I cannot get out the village, first email was from the factory manager telling all who can work from home to do so, happy to oblige! Jim
  2. Absolutely nothing lying yet in Glasgow, I am 200m up the hill in Eaglesham which is usually bad but so far just a dusting. Jim
  3. How about Leith Central, and if you want to convert it to a MPD - no problem. Jim
  4. The Caledonian 439 class loco would be my bet, with the D49 "Gordon Highlander" an outside possibility, they have already done a Shire. Jim
  5. ....and then one photograph comes up that seriously dented my resolve https://www.railscot.co.uk/img/61/972/ hmmmmmm...... And then I capitulated, one on order, just don't tell the wife. Better start saving! Jim
  6. First time I have seen a photo of one actually in use, all the others showed the remains rotting away. Jim

  9. Just to prove that the traditional parcels train did not die out in the post privatization era, here is 66214 at the head of 4 vans, IIRC this was a daily Aberdeen to Walsall service (Edit - Photographed at Coatbridge Central) Jim
  10. Not really a bus book buyer, but I was in W.H. Smiths in East Kilbride on Sunday and they had this rather nice volume on the clearance shelf for the princely sum of £1 Jim
  11. Killing In The Name - Rage Against the Machine
  12. I went to the show on Friday and wondered where on earth the time went! Many outstanding layouts but if I had to have a vote on the one that held my interest for the longest time it had to be Coppell, thoroughly enjoyable. Also filled my bag with just about everything on my shopping list. Well done to the organisers and exhibitors, looking forward to next year already. Jim
  13. Much as I welcome this addition to the range, I am holding off on this one on purely economic grounds, I can get a J36 from Hornby (via Hattons) for £112 with nothing to pay until the loco is available, but for this offering I have to shell out £40 more and have to pay £30 deposit for what is essentially a very similar loco. Jim
  14. Was speaking to the guys on the Hattons stand at Model Rail Scotland today, the tell me that there has been a huge demand for the J36, hopefully this will show Hornby that there is potential in further models of this type Jim
  15. None of the lads setting up tonight had a sneak preview???
  16. "The combined cash at bank value for all businesses where Mrs Anita Manning holds a current appointment equals £1.3m, a combined total current assets value of £1.3m with a total current liabilities of £316k and a total current net worth of £2.2m. Roles associated with Mrs Anita Manning within the recorded businesses include: Director." (Company Check) Not short of a bob or two either, she owns Great Western Auction House in Glasgow. Jim
  17. Confirmed by Hatton's this morning by email Jim
  18. The wife has been on "Bargain Hunt", she told me the cast (including Wannacott) were really nice people. Unfortunately the one I wanted to meet was not there http://www.flickriver.com/photos/tags/antiquesroadtrip/interesting/ Jim
  19. The sorry remains of Millerhill Marshalling Yard with the (then) Mothballed Monktonhall Colliery behind Jim
  20. Coincidentally I was looking through old Modellers last night for something else and stumbled on an article called "Operating Berrow", complete with layout diagram and photos, will try and scan it for you. Jim Jim
