  1. Pleased they've been such a rousing success Mike. Look forward to getting a few.
  2. Interesting! I guess not a million miles from the situation here - many exhibitors count modern as anything blue and grey onward. I'm born in 1986, so I agree that 1980 is pretty well ancient history!
  3. Dunno about that, but am I the only one upset or disappointed by the inference this is a "modern image" model?! It's nearly 50 years old! Will they assuage modern image modellers with a new A4 or something?!
  4. I'd be sorely tempted by an EWS rake! And a VTG rake.
  5. My wife and I have had a discussion about that... is it actually a model?!
  6. Forgive my ignorance, what's a Mk3B? I'm familiar with all the variants of Mk2, but not Mk3.
  7. It was Dapol who did the 'land grabbing' on the 92 and Pendo, but the point still stands. Not entirely sure it's the end of the world, unlike those models I don't think the 319 is quite as desirable.
  8. So idiot drivers are idiots. Agree with that! I got the missing seeing you bit, was trying to work out how you ended up stopped near her front wheel. But again, idiots are idiots.
  9. How are they all over the back of you, only to be held up by traffic? I can't imagine the acceleration of your MaxPower Land Rover is that epic you're leaving them in your wake? Can't work this out either. So I'll just say cool story.
  10. Seems pretty stupid. If you've somehow missed another road user despite your advancedness, then not indicating could compound that situation.
  11. Yes I must say I'm not sure where it actually is, never bothered looking! I suspect it may be on the concourse somewhere to appease the tourists who may not have tickets.
  12. You weren't looking that hard, there is a sign for Platform 9 3/4 with a luggage trolley disappearing into the wall IIRC!
  13. Interested to see an unbranded grey one in pair with a Caledonian Sleeper one, i.e. Very recently. Good photos, awesome locos!
  14. Well, no, they dont, because they've got Lance Stroll next season, but it's not wholly unreasonable to have at least one driver who can legally endorse your title sponsor's product globally!
  15. Can't see Alonso walking at this point, that would be a pretty odd choice. Maybe after race 1 when the car is no better and he doesn't get out of Q1!
  16. And virtually the whole of the WCML...?
  17. Then Hornby would be on shaky ground to reject the warranty. That's hardly major surgery though?
  18. I have to agree with Alistair here. I implore you not to do a 325, because I'll have to buy 3, and that'll cause all sorts of problems.
  19. Ha, yes, that's right, she did. Golfs ran deep, there's always been at least one on the drive since they got married. My dad still drives a GTI (as do I), and he also has a 1985 GTI cabriolet and an R32. My mum's gone to Jaguar though, for shame. Small world, although perhaps unsurprising given the subject of the forum that someone would know them.
  20. Holy thread resurrection Batman. Apologies. Just looking through this great layout thread, and can confirm that yes, Pennie Bellas did marry Mark Evans, I'm their son!
  21. Mendip Models did some in OO, I had some years ago, I don't remember excessive drag on the axles, nor do I remember them being particularly complex, but I forget how they did it! Lyneux of this parish has done some really nicely detailed ones too with 3D printed bogies here. Weren't the bogies on the JMAs the same originally?
  22. At risk of dragging this OT again, but how do the TOPS designations work? I'd assumed the IIAs were repurposing of the ex-GBRF coal wagons, whilst those up there look far more like a JGA. Why are they both IIAs?
  23. Makes total sense, you've only got 3 livery options and more limited distribution too, plus no ARC/Hanson 59 haulage (yet!), so I think the HOA is a far wiser choice. I just like the JHAs! Sorry, heading off topic! Cheers Nick
  24. Very useful Jo, thank you. Would love some Hanson JHAs too. Hint hint Ben and Mike
