  1. Afternoon Jonathan, I had hoped to be pulling this together for January 2024 but events have conspired against me. All being well, I hope to announce something either later in 2024 or for January 2025. Rest assured, there will be an announcement as and when. Rob.
  2. To be clear, Model Railways Direct were selling the SFX versions of the 37s for £184.95. Discounted retail is normally between £299.95 and £320.95. RRP is £374.95 from Bachmann. Rob.
  3. Also featured in that issue was part two of Lochside by Ian Futers. Rob
  4. No, the SFX and SF versions are also slashed. £175 in some cases. Rob .
  5. Deffo.Totally alters the look of the crane. Now a proper model. Rob
  6. Lovely job Matt. Arguably unrecognisable from the toy you started with. Rob
  7. Morning all, Yesterday saw the stiches out of the hoof and there's now more movement and less tingly stuff going on. Back with the Doc sometime in the New Year so put this to one side for now. After roughly tens days, post op, I do feel as if I have more feeling in the finger tips and less numbness in general. Certainly better than before and an improvement over the last 18 months or so. Perhaps understandably, I'm looking forward to doing a bit of modelling and I will, once I work out exactly what I'm doing ! The last week has seen another show invite drop in and if nothing else, I must make a list as a few have moved from their expected weekends/months. It's already looking like being a busy year once again. Therefore, more train stuff and less hoof stuff to follow...........fingers crossed ( and yes, I can do that now ) Onward and ever upward. Rob
  8. No, not too long at all going by a conversation had with Rapido on Wednesday. I'm looking forward to my blue job arriving. Rob
  9. Well, first run suggests a bit of a growler in reverse.........but, dim problem as I reckon a drop of oil on the motor bearings will sort this, as per my first example. Otherwise splendid. Rob.
  10. It appears that my plain black example has landed.......at the second attempt. The postie, God bless him, just tried to hand me a rather odd shaped box and fortunately I checked and noted it was addressed to Kirsty. I'm not one of those, not even on Sundays and I obviously brought it to his attention. A return to the van, a quick rummage and a far more agreeably shaped box emerged, smaller and much better presented than Kirsty's rather odd looking example. I'm off to unwrap accordingly. Rob.
  11. Or a shelf..........here's one I made earlier and may well repeat......... Rob.
  12. Afternoon Corbs, There is nothing wrong with your policy and your response above explains the rational behind it in a measured and reasonable manner. If people wish to ignore/avoid/ refuse this policy then frankly that's their lookout, something you cannot be held responsible for. At no time are you saying we will not resolve this It's not difficult. You buy something that's faulty. The manufacturer operates a warranty scheme which requires the purchaser to return it for assessment and remedy before being returned to them. Free. Pretty simple if you ask me. You can only do so much and your presence/responses on here indicate that you/Rapido are going above and beyond that which could be reasonably expected. Rob.
  13. This is the problem with being led by what is being posted on a forum. You must remember that for every issue highlighted on here there are literally hundreads of satisfied customers. Not every Accurascale customer is on RMweb. If you are worried, buy from a retailer, collect the model and have it tested before leaving the shop. Any reputable retailer will do this without being prompted and should do this before posting out to avoid any drama for the customer. Agreed. I work at an Accurascale stockist. To the best of my knowledge, we've not had cause to raise a return with yourselves regarding any of the 37s......On a personal level, I raised a minor, self generated 'issue' with the support team who could not have acted quicker to resolve 'my little problem' ( Top lad, Simon !) . Rob
  14. Thanks Rob. This is getting me thinking about an experiment or two with colour, Darling. Rob
  15. Hi Neil, It is rather nice. Yes, the white roofs will be taken in hand, no idea how yet but it will happen. The good thing is such treatment to the roofs is aided by the fact that they are removable. They can be tackled as individual projects. The Wainwright loco livery is just sublime and I shall be exercising caution when weathering these locos. You're spot on regarding the colouring and the effect of the scenery. Perhaps more than the other layouts, Lambsdown will have much thought given to how the various colours influence each other. Something of an Edwardian Flower Power layout really. Yeah Baby !
  16. Hi Steve, I raised this earlier in the thread. They will be removable/addable......( supplied separately in other words...) Scroll down...... Rob.
