  1. Much work has been carried out recently on the station with a few new lights replacing a couple that have been causing a few problems and at the moment I'm still in the middle of creating some good old fashion station signs. Being a South Coast layout, I'm always extending my Bulleid light pacific fleet so I have been getting more SR Battle of Britain's to add to the collection - just so happens one of them has a Dover shedcode which fits in very well! I have been very lucky with an old but fantastic runner 34054 Lord Beaverbrook, one of the Battle of Britain's Hornby brought out in the 1970's/1980's I believe - its an absolutely great loco! Will get pictures of the station soon and if anyone knows a good website for station signs e.g. Virol/ Golden Shred/ poster for Bournemouth Belle/ ACE/ Golden Arrow etc - sort of signs or posters you would find at a 1950's Southern region railways station, it would be much appreciated. Thanks
  2. Thank you, yes thats brilliant. Basically its based its a Southern terminus based in Sussex so something like the E4 would probably be most suitable but i suppose i could always pass the USA tanks off as doing trials in the harbour. Thanks for your comments
  3. With the SR USA tank due out this year and hopefully the O2, the Bachmann E4 within the next two years and various tank engines with different identity's including the 4mt 2-6-4 which I believe is going to be no. 80121 (a Southern allocated loco - ideal!) , I am having difficulty wondering what would be the most suitable addition to my Southern region south coast layout - im generally spolit for choice! I have found the USA tanks quite interesting and the detail that will be on them sounds extremely good. Decisions, decisions ;.......
  4. This is a picture on my Hastings Harbour layout of a Southern Railway rebuilt West Country. It has been specially weathered by a friend of mine to make a clean but weathered appearance, just like back in the 1950's/1960's where this would happen before these Bulleids haulded trains such as the Bournemouth Belle or Golden Arrow. Its a special locomotive on my layout due to it being one side 34008 Padstow and the other 34101 Hartland.

    LBSCR E4

Thanks for your comments. I was interested to read your entry Oldddudders, I heard a few stations used to use a pre grouping loco as a pilot in old or odd liveries. Its given me ideas

    LBSCR E4

This great news form Bachmann that they will be releasing the ex LBSCR E4 in LBSCR Umber, Southern Green, Early BR and Late BR means I am spoilt for choice. Despite Hastings Harbour being a layout set in the late 1950's/early 1960's of which the BR colours would be suitable, the LBSCR and SR colours really appeal to me. Thinking if I do get either the LBSCR or SR or both, then i could run it as a special or a station pilot. Brighton had a Terrier in LBSCR improved engine green for shutning duites late into the 60's. Ideas????
  7. My bulleid is looking fantastic with that look. Never thought of having it done like that before but its looking superb. It will great on Hastings Harbour. Thanks again Stu
