  1. For me the negatives on this model have outweighed the positives. A general lack of response from Hornby doesn't help either. No problem though there are plenty other manufacturers out there wanting my hard earned..........and I am enjoying discovering them all too
  2. It's a stunning piece of work. I am enjoying all the updates that you post.
  3. I have cast my votes. My only issue was the photos used in the poll for each entry. Some of them were not the best and I found I didn't have time to read every single thread and view all on the posts. This may not have worked to the builders advantage.
  4. Thing that I don't get that comes up from members is the running figure critique So it is running in place but how is that any different from walking figures or cars on the road that don't move, do you leave them out too?. Or what about figures doing "daytime" activities but then the layout is being run at night.
  5. The Time Warp - from the Rocky Horror Picture Show
  6. Some wonderful layouts here.......smashing !!
  7. A fantastic layout, I have enjoyed reading and following the progress so far. Looking forward to more in the future.
  8. The points you raise are certainly VERY VERY valid S.A.C The experienced part was pertaining to the modifications done to the model by some of the members on here. You yourself have been on here for 4 years and have shy of 4,000 posts. You have also taken the task of trying to rectify the VEP (which you shouldn't have had to in the first place) and in my opinion I would say you are an experienced modeler. I have only been modelling fora few months, I haven't even had practice at ballasting track yet let alone tackling issues with a VEP.
  9. I get where Venator is coming from, perhaps not professional but experienced maybe a better word? What some of these chaps have done to this VEP is certainly beyond what I could do!!
  10. Sounds nasty but hope you have a speedy recovery.
  11. Tie a yellow ribbon round the old oak tree - Tony Orlando
  12. Hi Phil, It is DCC ready but a quick look at the site and it appears they have now sold out. Perhaps this may fit the bill when it is released, not a bad price either. http://www.ehattons.com/32721/Bachmann_UK_32_385_Class_37_4_diesel_37415_in_Intercity_Mainline_livery_/StockDetail.aspx I will keep my eyes peeled though to see if the ViTrains comes back in to stock and let you know.
  13. At this point I would only be grateful if someone gave me a VEP. When I am spending my hard earned I don't have to be grateful, thank you very much !! and remember the old adage, if something is worth doing it's worth doing right or not at all.
  14. I'll vote for some Intercity service Phil. I just picked up a cracking class 47 by ViTrains in Intercity livery for £52 from Hattons. It is a cracker!!
  15. I think I will wait until they appear on the bay for cheap and then buy one to sit in a siding. Such a shame as this has put me off buying Hornby products and as a "newcomer" coming back into the hobby this isn't good.
  16. I doubt at this point they even care. If they did the VEP would have been pulled from the stores by now. Totally not acceptable in my book.
  17. I think a low relief hospital would also be nice.
  18. I have access to every single website, well I do work for an Internet provider.......we call it research
  19. Thanks Stephen, seems to be a common problem across the scales. I am receiving a new loco soon so will see how it handles the Atlas points.
  20. Went back and read this thread from the beginning. Great read and nice to see the progress. Can I ask are you using Atlas track with PECO points? I have trouble with Atlas points with my OO British stock no problems with the straights and curves though. Regards Scott
  21. The detail and dedication on this just leaves me well..........GOBSMACKED !!! Enjoying watching the progress.
