  1. How about a bustling market place? (Do they not have them any more in the UK?) Archaeological dig? Concert?
  2. http://www.quermania.de/nordrhein-westfalen/ausflug/zoo-safaripark-stukenbrock.php Here is the train !
  3. We used to go to a Safari park in Germany when I was a kid. it was in a place called Stuckenbrock. You went through the Safari park in your car or on a bus and the at the end parked your car and there was a Baboon enclosure. The train had carriages that were basically cages on wheels and the baboons would climb all over as it went round a basic oval. Once that was done it was on to all of the rides !!! A great family day out. They even had a petting zoo with sheep, goats chickens etc....
  4. Vollmer, Busch, Faller may even have some trains suitable for a safari.
  5. Very nice, I have often wondered about getting that middle apartment building, looks like I might have to now!
  6. This is stunning Terry, lots of lovely subtle details.
  7. Awesome !!! Are the detached houses scratch built?
  8. Just saw a review of this on Youtube, must say I would be a tad disappointed if I bought one. The last two window sections of the motor coach are dark! How is that an improvement over the original? As least with out lighting and tinted windows it wasn't that obvious from normal viewing distance.
  9. I messaged Hattons regarding the overpriced three pack. They did look at the Hornby site and stated their RRP was different so they will have someone look into it.
  10. Both Kernow and Hattons have this listed higher then the Horny RRP of £79.99 Also why would they make a different buffet for this set? If the problem was with the tooling surely it would have affected this set too? and if not why not release this one as a single?
  11. Did any of the DMUs employ a either MKI or a MarkII TSO ?
  12. Loving the safari park, I had contemplated this idea for Tynsleyfield but I think it would have needed to much space to be credible. I opted to go with a zoo as in the 80s the enclosures were smaller and closer together unlike most zoos of today. Nice find on the airfix animals, they can be quite expensive to get a hold of especially complete boxed sets.
  13. Still expect us to pay full whack for them though !
  14. Love seeing all the projects you are sent in Lee, thanks for sharing them with us. I do like the people in the DMU, never seen these particular styles, did you buy those or were they sent by the customer?
  15. Very nice, think I prefer the flat roof depot building though.
  16. Just read over this thread, my word what a cracking little layout. So much detail !! Looking forward to seeing what comes next. Regards Scott
  17. This is just nuts !! I bought the western Mk3s a year ago or so while waiting for the power cars. The TGS and buffet were not released at the same time as the TSO & FO. Unfortunately funds were not available when the power cars came out and I missed them. No problem I thought I will get the executive ones and run with blue & grey cars. Then they released the buffet and TGS in blue grey but lit and tinted windows so they don't match either, no problem I though I will get an executive buffet and TGS but these are tinted also and now now roof vents nor proper seating !!! I think I may just give the HSTs a miss. Yooooo hooooo..............Mr. Bachmann any chance of a correct HST set?
  18. Following along with interest Jaz..........everyone loves the circus :jester:or zoo
  19. Have you been to Germany, they sell thin chocolate slabs designed to be placed on a bread roll. I am a chocoholic but a chocolate bar sandwich never appealed to me.
  20. What a great look back over the year. Happy New Year to you both !
