  1. Looks great, the scalescenes papers are working out well.
  2. and I bet that one runs better than mine !!! Had a play about with it again today.................bag............of..............nails. So disappointed, especially as I have to go through the hassle of mailing it back.
  3. Just found this thread, following along now.
  4. What an entrance ! Welcome to the forum and I shall look forward to watching your layout develop. As said by other the platforms looks amazing. Regards Scott
  5. Can't say I have had any issues with the Humbrol paints I am using. I don't have an airbrush either. There is sludge in the bottom and it does take a few minutes to get it all stirred up but after that they seem ok.
  6. Congratulations and best wishes for the future. Regards Scott
  7. or maybe not! this has to be the worst item I have ever bought. Out of the box it looks great!!! Tried getting it apart, what a pig. Wires glued into the holes, finally got it chipped and nothing. Had to push it along to get it going which it did for a while. There seems to me a fair amount of side play so I tried to force the wheels as they seems out of gauge. Made it worse, stalls at all the points. If this had been a Christmas gift for a kid, they wouldn't have been very happy. Sorry but just more disappointment from Hornby.
  8. My Balfour Beatty sentinel arrived today, not sure if the right era for my layout but I like it anyway. Will be adding a Barabel to the fleet
  9. Layout looks great Neil, fantastic job with the signals too !!
  10. I had a similar experience as I had not received an email stating my item had been shipped. Contacted them on the website chat, very helpful, Said there was a problem in the warehouse and they were working to clear it as quickly as possible. took an extra 3 business days to receive my item. No problem at all, sometimes things happen beyond our control, I wasn't waiting for a kidney, it is just toy trains.
  11. Just had a read of this thread, very nice modelling. Looking forward to watching it develop.
  12. Would the Balfour one be suitable for an 80s layout?
  13. I'm originally from Leeds, Dad was the in Army, when he left we decided to buy my Nans' house in Dronfield and shortly after decided to move to Canada. That was in 1990, as I was 18 at the time I didn't really have the finances to stay in the UK so moved with my folks and siblings. Spent many a day in Chesterfield, lovely town.
  14. Not fussy just not coal as my 58 is coal so after a mix.
  15. Great stuff Marcus, that second photo looks like the view from my bedroom window (when I lived in Dronfield)
  16. Yeah shame didn't even know you were selling up until you had. Oh well.
  17. Need to keep my eyes peeled for a RF & a LL Class 56 and a Sector 60 but not in coal livery
  18. Every time I log on another little gem is discovered that I have somehow missed. Have had a good read over this thread (slow day at work ) Nice fleet you have and am looking forward to watching this layout develop. I bought myself a Heljan 86 in Virign livery with the hopes of having it resprayed, my Dynamis controller i had around my neck neck it off the track and onto the floor so now it is a repair and a respray !! Hopefully Heljan will bring out another release of these. Regards Scott
