RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted July 21, 2015 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 21, 2015 I had a good look at these during scanning them in......and I'm curious just how you managed to get any driving done in between filling them out ? Kindest Regards, Shed. Many (most drivers) didn't bother! Simples
Nicktuk159
I can't believe I've only just discovered this thread ... my old depot I was a Driver here from 1976 - 1985 and honestly can't recall the sidings on the Down Side being called '60s' and feel sure I knew them as 'The Park' Thanks for sharing these wonderful memories
w124bob
I got my driver post at Orpington, moved down in the spring of '83 and stayed until the end of '86. Colleagues I remember, Nick Tozer(Charing Cross, now runs Nick Tozer books), a guard who was a fellow Citroen enthusiast and driver who was secretary for the Humber owners club. He transfered to Llandudno jct, Nick to Huddesfield and I moved to Manchester Victoria. The area manager was a gent called Fred Collinson who by coincidence had started at Newton Heath as a cleaner. Newmodeller96
Hi All, loved looking at these photos, I am hoping to model a simplified version of Orpington in this period and was wondering if anyone has any more pictures of the tracks especially towards the engine shed? Thanks
RMweb Gold Dagworth Posted January 16, 2021 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 16, 2021 I’d missed this topic completely until now, I was a driver at Charing Cross from 88 to 97 so spent many hours around Orpy! Andi
