I believe I still have it. Will reply there.

Many thanks, didn't want to sound pushy but I wasn't sure if it had got lost given you have so many requests for info and work!

Going to ask if any clayliner transfers details tomorrow.

If you need them, you'll find some early ones on the CCT website.

Hi Gang;

As usual, I have had recently had excellent service from Steve yet again, and was lucky to corner him for a few minutes at the recent NEC show to discuss the next 2mm requirement/request to wing his way. Hopefully, the request is not too dramatic and and Steve can work his magic and make the decals available in a short while. His workload, as usual, is massive, so I must be patient and not harass him unduly!!

Later;

Stu from NRSW

I am after some clayliners of pool 7401, so far 6 done, but they will be a right collection. Aiming for 10.

All are based off Paul HMRS photos.

I know that some have been done before, but are there plans for packs, mine will be as TOPS with OWV?

Or are some wagons ready to go if requested?

Thanks

Martin

Hi Steve,

Any update on the SE&CR cabside plates ? The additional info you requested was sent though at the end of February( 29th ) but to date I don't appear to have had a response.

Was it received okay ?

Your ticket reference ID 9142.

Cheers,

Rob

Good morning folks,

Another big thumbs up from me for Railtec.

Very quick delivery for an order placed at the weekend, including a bespoke set of decals for re-numbering a Bachmann Fairburn 2-6-4T loco.

Most excellent!

Cheers, Nigel.

Just had a disaster, ordered a replacement sheet.

Upol primer

Precision bauxite

Klear

Transfers

Klear

Army painter acrylic matt varnish

Time left between coats,  over a week from klear to matt

About half the wagons have had transfers crinkle and disintegrate.

What have i done wrong please?

Not had this before

If the transfers were OK after the Klear, and only crinkled when the matt varnish was added, it suggests that there is some incompatibility arising from the matt varnish. Could the formulation of the matt varnish have changed?

When the replacement transfers arrive, I would test a sample transfer on a pre-prepared piece of plastic card that has had the same painting regime as the model.

CJI.

PS - Could it have been an over-heavy application of the matt varnish, that has softened the Klear?

What was telling is a Fox one wrinkled as well, yet same method used for my LMS hoppers with a mix of CCT and Fox.

May be technique?

I have a few recently-made new packs to upload onto the web site. They'll appear shortly.

@railtec-modelsI’ve been looking in the website but can’t find the G.W.R transfers.

@railtec-models I have been trying to place an order online but can't get past the selection of shipping option.  After picking an option there is no button to continue to the next stage.

Just tried a virtual order and seems to work ok for me.

I had a similar occurrence with Army Painter's acrylic varnish (although satin in this case, not matt). I found that the transfers could be removed gently with a thumbnail and/or a lolly stick with the end cut into a chisel tip (soft enough not to damage the underlying paint). I re-varnished the surface with gloss to get a nice smooth surface, re-did the transfers, and used Vallejo's acrylic varnish with no trouble at all.

Given we've both had trouble with the Army Painter varnish, I'd suggest that would seem to be the problem!

I have sometimes had that and trying a different browser solved it for me. It doesn’t manifest as a permanent problem though as I can go back to previous browser days later and it works. May be browser update related

For my latest layout Juniper Hill Tip, I asked Steve if he could make me up some LT train reporting numbers as fitted to their ex-BR Pannier tanks.

As usual Steve was very helpful and as you can see he has done a wonderful job.

Moor to Sea..7

Two other LT Panniers carry these reporting numbers. L89 and L92 actually use Railtec's LT Pannier renumbering sheet.

Well recommended and thanks to Steve for his excellent service and products.

Cheers,

Mark

I’m pleased to report that I placed two orders with Steve @railtec-models on 5th July, one was despatched on that day. The second was a set of GWR carriages numbers made to order - which was despatched yesterday 12th July.

Excellent service Steve, thanks very much, a very happy customer.

Steve @railtec-models is is possible to add three letter TOPS codes to the custom "BR passenger vehicle numbers" transfers? (happy if it replaces one set of numbers).

I've got an NNX courier van which needs custom numbers and it would be easier if the TOPS code was a single transfer rather than making it up from individual letters.
