letterspider
This week decided to buy an Piko track cleaning coach in RTC livery. The reason is that my CMX Track cleaner - which I cannot fault - does require some time and efffort to prepare it, while I also wanted something to do a quick clean for 5 minutes. The problem with this van is firstly it,s in HO scale and secondly the body shell is flat with the detail printed on and so disappointing at the RRP of around £45. However these do turn up on eBay occasionally 2nd hand ? unboxed and so I decided to see if I could make something more prototypical from the chassis. letterspider
The body shell donor is a 40' Dapol Intermodal. By cutting the end off and sticking it back on, it is easier to hide the cut lines Donor End cut off Assembled and with branding sprayed off. Now only needs weathering...
letterspider
Some black washes to the container and some spare transfers applied. A quick mock up before I apply weathering to the under carriage The liveries are all a bit off but.... who cares?
