Incidents like that are when the motorhome was a blessing.  Toilet to hand, kettle on for a cuppa, food in the fridge. Sad to say it has gone now but I dont do long distances these days.

it is a good thing EWE wont take long to set up. You could have had a big multiboard layout.

My current car doesn't have a CD player. It has one of those computer type sockets, but I've yet to work out if I can put some music on a memory stick and play it in the car.

I haven't even worked out if you can pre-set the DAB radio stations....

If I don't like what's on, I have to wait until I'm stationary and change it manually. 

Looking at the manual, with about a trillion, gazillion pages, just makes me loose the will to live...

Despite my Renault being a French car made in France, the handbook for the sound system and satnav are in Polish, the market in which the car was expected to be sold. I have found it possible to download sound files to a memory stick, and that avoids me hearing French radio, which is dire, quite apart from being in French.

Just got back from Maidstone  and the RAPIDO sponsored exhibition. Superb ,quality of the layouts was excellent. Spent some time looking Ewe and talking to NHY581 who was happy show how he weathers his rolling stock . Ewe is a super layout which proves you can have a realistic layout in OO gauge with tension lock couplings.

Traffic problems nothing new for those of us who live in the wilds of east Kent. The M2 and M20 are frequently closed by roadworks,accidents often both .Dont try to get to Gatwickairport or the channel ports which is why I went to Maidstone by train!

An excellent day with much chatting with many lovely people which has made yesterday all the more worthwhile. 

 

Frankly, if you are in two minds about coming, this is an excellent show with a great selection of layouts. I'm plonked next to Old Parrock which has to be one of my favourite layouts ever. Paul's masterpiece is just sublime. 

 

 

As you can see, I've added the new rather discreet drapes...........

 

So, do come along. At £5 to enter, it's bargain for what's on display. 

 

Oh and I am somewhat inspired........

Well......the thought had crossed my mind to use them in a Colonel Stephensesque scenario on Blackwater Pier.....as it happens...as well as in a terribly improbable and somewhat threadbare industrialesque setting ( not Sheep Dip I hasten to add.....I have a plan )
