dont let the other boys get to you. If you look top right you should see your username with your avatar or just a coloured circle  and a down arrow by its side click there and you should have a list of options pick settings and the signature. There you can add a signature of your own  butthe is a slide button to show the signatures of others.

If you decide to add some witticism on your signature it will be there on every post you make so make it a good one

Drama at Chateau Sheep. 

 

Sheep 2, lead vehicle for the European cross border deployment has thrown a proper hissy fit and is currently out of commission. Complete and utter disaster. 

 

Sheep 3 may have to be deployed at short notice but that brings with it a few issues of it's own. 

Most immediate is the run to Wells tomorrow which is very much in doubt.

Hope you make it to Wells today Rob, I didn’t manage to make it last year but went with my 92 year old Dad yesterday we thoroughly enjoyed it. 
Andrew’s Debut outing with Cheddar was one highlight, been following that for a number of years over on WT. 

Burnham on Sea and many more!

The Stephenson Clarke open needs a bit of work. In particular the hinge to the rear door is missing so a representation needs fabricating. There's a nice photo with one on the Selsey Tramway.

Enjoy the well earned break (hoping your sheepmobile is okay) - currently floating on a canal barge outside Ellesmere on the Llangollen Canal* and first time I’ve had proper internet signal to browse RMWeb for days!

 

Chugged by Chirk yesterday … only upon sitting down with the Canal Guidebook did I see the word “Dapol” and realise I had passed by their HQ without visiting! Mind you, we are on a tight schedule to be back at base for 9:00am Saturday!!

Morning all,

Well, now back from just over two weeks in the Czech Republic. Arrived home late on Wednesday night, having left sunny Bohemia early on Tuesday morning, pausing at Aachen overnight before resuming Wednesday morning.

One of the highlights of the break was the planned trip over the now reopened Tabor to Bechyne branchline, closed for upgrade 2022/23. Our arrival this year corresponded with the start of the use of state owned"historic stock" on summer Saturdays, something done each year. I love this line, which, like many in the Czech Republic retains proper track formations with loops and sidings at the intermediate stations and a full terminus at Bechyne where locos run around the coaches. There are also spurs leading to various private industries and at least one to exchange sidings with a military facility. 

Three stock formations were in use on the day we travelled.

A Class 113 Bo-Bo plus two coaches which appeared to be the usual branch formation.

 

 

 

 

Elinka, an Electric Railcar built in 1903 for the opening of the line and still in use for normal branch services until the late 60s

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

And finally, Bobinka, a Class 422 Bo-Bo electric hauling two former Railcar trailers which was  in use from the 60s, through to the 70s and 80s.

 

 

 

 

 

We travelled out from Tabor ( where the roundhouse is used to accommodate the above stock ) on Bobinka then came back on Elinka.

Great fun. The weather was stunning with temperatures in the low 30°s which really gave an opportunity to thoroughly enjoy the lovely countryside that this line passes through. 

 

 

 

All services were well patronised and I know from previous trips that normal service trains are well used by the locals.

The tickets for Elinka were slightly more expensive than the usual fares but it appears that a percentage goes to support the maintenance of the historic stock which is also supported by an enthusiastic ( and very friendly) "friends of " association which operate a sales stand on the Bobinka service from which you can buy merchandise and snacks ( including a pint if required ).

I picked up this lovely book on the line which is extremely detailed and contains arguably all the information needed to have a good go at modelling the line. 

 

 

 

It may be in Czech but this adds to the fun. I've certainly learnt a bit just by dipping into it since we came home.
