Dirt in panel corners makes for a very realistic finish, whether the intention is a clean coach/carriage or a dirty one. Just sayin'. 2

First trainset included three ancient Tri-ang GWR clerestories. And the rest as they say, is history.

RMweb Gold Popular Post NHY 581 Posted February 5, 2021 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted February 5, 2021 Tonight saw a bit of shunting. I have no idea how long I've had this little chap but its quite a long time. I would venture easy twenty years if not quite a bit longer. It was always a poor runner and a few weeks ago, spurred on by a blog entry from Mark ( 46444) of the parish, I dug it out. A bit of tweaking and the running improved. This evening, further adjustments were made and running wise I think its as good as its going to get. It will slow to a crawl in both directions and I would say its good enough to pop out in an exhibition. Cosmetics now need sorting. I have a whistle and lovely brass chimney from Wizard models. I'll order some transfers and number plate from Railtec and a smokebox door handle from somewhere. A nice side project and lovely to finally play with it tonight. My apologies for the poor image. MrWolf
Interesting and it's actually a pretty good image. I have the remnants of an L&Y pug, it either needs a new body, or more likely I was thinking of fitting a Westernised Avonside superstructure. I have never run it much, it could do with a bit of tweaking to improve the running and inspire doing something useful with it.
Wayne 37901
Can't see anything wrong with the image to be honest. I do like Pugs, it looks right at home there! I like the look of the groundwork, I should really take some lessons in scenery as I'll need to give Trevanna an overhaul soon and scenery is something I'm not great at. Cheers, Wayne

If it helps Rob, Peters spares are doing LMS Pug bodies for £12.99 or without Cabs for £4.99. 1

MrWolf
I do like an eye level view like that with the train on the skyline. Thanks for the info about the pug bodies, I could do with getting it running properly first, but that is very cheap, so I will be ordering one! 2
