Apologies for the thread hijack here Rob but in view of the comments about pannier tanks earlier in this thread I feel this has to be done. I hope you don’t mind.

The official title of the diorama is “Decay” but I think a suitable alternative would be “ Revenge of the panniers”

Nice seagulls

Nice lavatory they've found, as well.

Could have been worse......they could be sat on a W.C rather than a B o B ....Imagine that.......

I spent a few mins looking for photos of seagulls on pannier tanks. I know, look what you've done to me. Suffice to say, pickings were not that rich.

Hang on, I thinks, AI. All you have to do is type in a description and it will generate a photo. Well I typed in some key words and look what I got:

At this point I should point out that as well as hopefully the obvious search word "seagull", the others were GWR and Pannier Tank.

That said, this has to be my favourite...

Perhaps AI won't be taking over the word just yet?

I can't remember where exactly it is, but I've walked the trackbed of a temporary railway used in the construction of a dam and reservoir.

Never seen anyone model that before.

That's what I thought when I looked at those locos, a temporary branch bringing in materials, men and machinery in from a main line connection.

Just a thought!

That Dam Railway was such a layout as I recall

Right railway, but the other end, it's Garstang Town

http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/g/garstang_town/index1.shtml

Knott End terminus building still exists, it was converted into a cafe. Or rather the station cafe took over the entire building.

It's been much altered since, but still does one of the finest fry ups in the northwest.

If you look closely enough, you can still make out the original brickwork.

It's a fascinating little railway, right on my doorstep and had it survived would have made a great preserved line.

I have a copy of this book, it's a very inspiring read:

"The Pilling Pig – A History of the Garstang & Knott End Railway – The Book House" https://www.thebookhouse.co.uk?p=403

As you can see, I've added the new rather discreet drapes...........

Looking at that, my thought was :

Baa

Humbug
