Would like to see how you built up and covered the gentle gradient behind the platform as I’m thinking of doing the same thing. If you have any photos that’d be grand! Looking forward to seeing how your SECR venture shapes up. Cheers. Bonjour ! I'll dig some photos out as they're tucked away. I used 5mm foam board triangles, trimmed to correspond with the platform height ( 18mm ?) tapering up towards the back scene, probably an additional 10-15mm in height ( at a guess !) Those formers between the end of the platform and the ends of the board were obviously from "floor" level and I think they were a bit steeper. All the formers eere braced with squares or rectangles of foam board cut to fit at floor level between the verticals. @durham light infantry now looks after Mutton so perhaps Mike may be able to shed some more light on it. The formers were then covered with Mod-Roc painted with a diluted PVA mix then painted with brown acrylic paint. 2mm static grass was the base layer then successive layers of 4mm until happy. I'll see if I can root out some images. Rob 4 1

I was just going to stick some fencing up on my platform but I’m pondering forming a small embankment behind might look more pleasing on the eye, even if it’s more work involved. I’ll have to cover that area in grass/shrubbery anyway. Remind me where you get your static grass from?

woodenhead
I've had a Lack of motivation recently, but have ordered a 2mm FS mineral wagon as a test kit and a book on building track. Then I might get my Lack out of the garage and use it for another little test track - last time it set me off back in OO - this time might be a little more challenging.

Sorry, I’ve no idea what that is. If I have created one of those it’s a coincidence. I’ve simply reworked my own Sheep Lane as seen here under construction back in 2016.... I’ve added a point, changed a couple from right to left hand and altered the point of entry. Rob Edited January 6 by NHY 581
