Well to start with, you need to have a good subject matter and the layout looks superb, already with atmosphere. I took around 15 focus stacked images (RAW files), opened into Lightroom then into Photoshop to blend together into one image to increase the depth of field. I removed some of 'non-model' elements, than back into Lightroom to crop and adjust the white balance. Then again using Photoshop, used a sky replacement before back into Lightroom to crop to add some shading / highlights. Exported as a JPG and then to here! Just like that!!!! 😀 2

RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted July 2, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 2, 2022 Morning all, Bleat Wharf was conveyed to Penarth yesterday evening for what is it's first outing in three years. I'm in in a nice airy and light room, in good company with three other layout whose staff seem like good sorts. There are a few desired tweaks left undone but I think it looks quite presentable as is and anything outstanding can be sorted by the Minehead show. So, an early start this morning as I have need to quickly repaint a small part of the fascia which had the paint scuffed off enroute. Not a major drama but one I'd like to address prior to opening. Otherwise, as left last night all seemed good. Updates to follow........ Rob.

RMweb Gold teaky Posted July 3, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted July 3, 2022 The next layout will probably be something humorous involving the word får then. Having also done a brief search for "viking sheep" I was spoilt for choice and it opens up a whole new range of funny images for our host to plunder.

I'm already sorted namewise for the next project or two and anyhow, wouldn't want to diversify into anything of a Nordic persuasion. Right, day 2 of the Penarth show...... The Vikings raided and settled the coast of Wales too you know, from Pembrokeshire and along the south coast. Anyway, good luck with day 2. 1

Popular Post Wayne 37901
Hiya Rob, Nice to see Bleat Wharf and have a brief catch up at Penarth Saturday morning. It would have been nice to stay longer but a 10hr shift starting at 1400 beckoned. I like the hardstanding with some old cobbles showing through, a nice touch. Here's a couple pics anyway. Tidy layout sir.👍 Edited July 3, 2022 by Wayne 37901

RMweb Gold Popular Post NHY 581 Posted July 4, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted July 4, 2022 Morning all, Well, that's the Penarth show all done and Bleat Wharf has been returned to the Room of Doom. I would say that it's pretty much ready for it's trip to Minehead but will look over things in a couple of days time. Main job will be to clean and adjust the 3F and 4F. Despite being a light and airy venue, I was struck by just how dusty the layout became on day 1. However.............highlight of the weekend was meeting George Haylock and Dad with Llandafal. This was George's first exhibition with Llandafal which is George's first layout. They won best in show and rightly so. It is an absolute delight, built by a very talented but very modest young man. I predict we will see a lot more from George in the future. He is due to take Llandafal to the Cardiff Show in August. This alone is reason enough to attend and is quite simply a master class in Micro-layoutage. I have lifted some photos from George's facebook site. Photos are by Kyle Humphreys from TRS Trains. RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted July 9, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted July 9, 2022 Morning all. Now that the dust has settled following the Penarth show, thoughts are turning to prepping Bleat Wharf for it's trip to the seaside at Minehead in a little over three weeks time. Unusually, other than cleaning and checking the locos, there's not a huge amount to do. I have a small amendment to the wiring to attend to but that's about it. Two weeks after that, Sheep Dip is at the Cardiff show and I'm in pretty much the same position............... As I say, pretty unusual for me. Trips to the seaside, don't forget to get your stick of rock and then a trip to the big C. Cor I don't know how you put up with all the excitement. I really don't.😀
