But I don't wish to tinker with it and it can stay as is for now. If you didn't want the disc to show Rob, you could always get some clear decal sheet, paint it a similar green to the loco and apply a small square over the disc. It helps if the green isn't exactly the same as it gives the impression of a transferred loco with the disc removed. After the show the decal should be easy enough to remove with a bit of sellotape, Keith 1 2

Of course I could use the other 08 which is not so obviously a Western region example. Although it is from.......ahem.....cough.....Swansea.....cough........ MrWolf
As you are Cardiff area, can you even mention Swansea jack's without bursting into flames? Or your neighbors setting you on fire? 1

It's no better 300 miles north, the last thing I wanted to do this morning having come back from the station was go down to the Profanium and start messing around with bits of old iron. It's just about warmed up in there now, but I've decided it's time for a brew

Should I be worried.........? Well, by my standards things are in hand but..........there are, depending on your perspective, some 99 days before SWAG in Taunton. You'd think, I would be cracking on with things but it's not happening. There's the occasional spark but when I have chance to tinker and it comes to getting hands on, it doesn't happen. Am I concerned ? No, not really but perhaps I should be. Don't be concerned. We are all in a Covid-inhibited environment, in the dark and coldest part of the year, and you are, I believe, between work assignments. Days drift by all too easily for many of us. Continue to think and plan, and I bet when life seems nicer you will have a much easier time doing what is needed. 4 3

Aston is pretty much stalled at present and I seem to be focusing my rather limited energy on daily tasks and earning a crust. Things will improve over the next few weeks however, I got a churchgoing friend to have a word with the management. I'd have done it myself but bursting into flames every time you step onto hallowed ground is really inconvenient and tends to scare the natives.... Ah! Rees' steak pies from Cowbridge Road, Canton. I well remember an early morning visit to the premises on a day when Arsenal were in the F.A cup, 2005 maybe? Sure they played Man Utd. Equally appealing. That said, Clarks do well with a portion of chips ( heavy on the vinegar) as Clarks innards, being of a finer mince adhere well to dipped chips............ You can then attack the pastry....... 5

Morning Stu, I do. However, George, the Mischievous Apprentice was peckish approximately 0600hrs and came and had a chat about it. He was closely followed by the Works Forecat who informed me that she was equally famished. That said, as Wolfie alludes to, I'm still waking early in the week. Perhaps I should use the time wisely and get on with building a layout.......... Rob. 10 2

Morning Chris, Now, whilst both Clarks and Rees' are known pie establishments in Cardiff ( and seemingly wider given Von Wolf's knowledge) , a five minute walk from Chateau Sheep is a butchers that also make their own pies and pasties. Their breakfast rolls, pork and stuffing rolls, turkey, cranberry and stuffing rolls, steak and gravy rolls are also very splendid things. Of the pies, the steak and stilton is recommended as are the large beef and veg pasties. They also do very fine in house faggots to take away with peas, roast potatos and gravy. Closer to home, the Memsahib has recently perfected her take on a Greggs chicken bake, which aside from being bigger are indistinguishable from the real thing. I could do with a walk...... 8 1 1
RMweb Gold Nick C Posted January 15, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 15, 2022 Mmm, pie! Both our local butcher, and the nearby farm shop with very good pies, are struggling to get Lamb at the moment, prices have gone crazy. Which means my favourite lamb and mint pie is unobtainable... 2 2
