RMweb Gold NHY 581 Posted January 8, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted January 8, 2022 Thanks, FP, I have Russells, along with the various Bradleys for both LBSCR and LSWR. There will be much application made of modellers licence with a layout featuring a D1 seemingly allocated to Horsham, a 0330 from Eastleigh and a T1 from.........um....I've forgotten. Early 30s was what I was looking at anyway. With the change in the Southern numbering in 1931 there was only so long after that you could go. To be honest there's no rush to build anything else. All will need fettling anyway. Before that though I need to finish my ex GER backwater and with invites emerging for Bleat Wharf to appear at exhibitions this year, work needs doing to make sure they both cut the mustard in front of others. And that's not including Sheep Dip....... Rob.

RMweb Gold JustinDean Posted January 8, 2022 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 8, 2022 Also two varieties of black pudding. This would be perfect if it weren’t for the tomatoes. Need to lose that filth. 1 1
MrWolf
Tomatoes need to be of the tinned variety. Why have all that fried food, then panic and grill the only "healthy" element? Cowards. We sometimes have a fry up as a lunch treat. The memsahib only ever eats porridge for breakfast, done it her whole life. It's one of her quirks. I am apparently on said list of quirks. 8 1

I'm starting to believe that the campaign to get us all to go vegetarian is a sinister plot to bring us all into line with certain group's world view and thus make us easier to control. I can't quite remember who that Austrian chap was back in the 1930s who was a teetotal, anti smoking vegetarian that loved children and animals? He had a grand vision for the world...
MrWolf
Sorry for the thread hijack! If you do choose to go veggie for the sake of the planet, try to eat what's grown here, rather than exotica grown on the other side of the world and flown in by a gas guzzling jet freighter! Rant over, we're off to burn some villages... 5

Looks just like the breakfast I got served at a very nice hotel I stopped at a couple of years ago - except that instead of fried tomatoes I had a helping of scrambled egg!! Yum!! The local veterans society ran a Friday Breakfast Club for forces veterans, public services personnel and supporters, which I was fortunate enough to attend a few times pre-pandemic; their breakfast was as above except (a) only one type of black pudding (Bury black pudding, of course!) and (b) option of fried SPAM, too! RMweb Gold Popular Post NHY 581 Posted January 14, 2022 Author RMweb Gold Popular Post Share Posted January 14, 2022 (edited) Morning all. We must start the day with an admission. There is no progress at all with Ewe. Should I be worried.........? Well, by my standards things are in hand but..........there are, depending on your perspective, some 99 days before SWAG in Taunton. You'd think, I would be cracking on with things but it's not happening. There's the occasional spark but when I have chance to tinker and it comes to getting hands on, it doesn't happen. Am I concerned ? No, not really but perhaps I should be. I did not and do not want to be in a situation where I am going like the clappers to get things done. Been there, done that all too often. On a positive, I have enough locos now chipped and set up to provide the required motive power, more than enough in fact ( no surprises there methinks ) The current roster has representatives of Classes 03, 08, 15 and 24. The diesel period is set firmly in 1965. All are creepy crawly and suitably addressed. The slight anomally is the 08 which is complete with a yellow Western Region route disc. But I don't wish to tinker with it and it can stay as is for now. The Class 16 awaits it's new motor. The old one needs its flywheels removing and transferring to the new and we can then refit. Hopefully this will make a difference. There are enough wagons and brake vans now fitted with Kadees as are all the locos. All seem to work well in terms of uncoupling. Coupling is another matter and I must apply myself to adding weight and reducing the free rolling tendencies to assist with this. That's a massive contradiction but a necessary evil. Again on a positive, all wagons bar one are weathered and ready to go. The locos however are not weathered and will need doing before they can be shown. This will obviously take time given my normal molluscesque approach to such things. I am aiming for four locos to be available out of the above roster. Anymore is a bonus and being honest, I could easily get away with three for a one day show. Oh and I need to properly install the NCE thingy and build the backscene/lighting jobbie........and then actually make some progress with it all. There is then, as alluded to at the start, a bit to be getting on with..................at some point...... Rob.
