The big firework mounting we see 12 hours before the amateur party goes start wishing everyone they hate a Happy New Year? Now flying a Shackleton under it as the fireworks go bang would look impressive. 5

Charles' Uley Junction layout has grown from its original terminus-fiddle yard exhibition condition to include a large double-track oval and another fiddle yard. These are unusual because they are fully portable so that they can be set up on his drive, which is on a slope, so the all the legs are different lengths. Uley Road is the through station on the extension. The extra fiddle yard sits just inside the garage. The signalman is looking somewhat perplexed (not uncommon). 25

RMweb Premium Popular Post St Enodoc Posted September 10 Author RMweb Premium Popular Post Share Posted September 10 Checking my diary for something else reminded me that it's just ten years since our new garage (railway room) was completed. Here are some photos of it in all its naked glory: Layout construction didn't actually start until early 2015 but it's still interesting to reflect on how far the layout has, and also hasn't, progressed since then... 31

By strange coincidence, identical thoughts have been occupying YT as I rapidly approach 3 years in, how much done, not done etc. You beat me to posting by about 5hrs. That's an interesting question, Stu. When I started, I thought it would take about three years to get all the track laid and working plus another couple to get all the "functional" stuff like signals, lever frames and uncouplers completed. For various reasons, not just my slow rate of working, it's taken much longer. After 10 years I though I'd have at least the backscenes in place and most of the basic railway infrastructure (bridges, buildings, and so on) in place. I'm still not too bothered, as it's not a race, but I do want to step it up a bit. 4
