..... Larrys suggestion (thanks) sounds much easier and I will try out myself in due course . However I do not understand what means by spraying ? I glue mine on !

Sorry I missed this last November. What I meant was I put the tape on the loco before I spraying the loco....I was painting & lining bare-metal locos.

A couple of old builds photgraphed for the K's thread

Y8

Not much of the original left. New chassis a cut down Mainly trains Terrier etch, Mashima motor and 108.1 High Level Box and much detail added. Still has K's wheels as couldnt fine anything else in 12mm diameter.

Doesnt like even Live frog points due to the tiny wheelbase.

Which High Level gearbox did you use, please? I've got a Connoisseur kit to build and want to use a High Level 108:1 box with a Mashima 1015 motor, but have concerns about not fitting in the body, where yours obviously does.

Thanks

Phil

Looks to me like some lateral springing arrangement.  I'd be interested to see that too - it might apply equally to my B16 which has a bit of a shimmy at speed.

Yes, two reasons, one to help the loco round curves, think it works a bit, second to stop the bleedin' thing flopping about...

Will try to get more photos later.

Lifting the body 30thou hasn't really affected buffer hight.

Spring steel wire fixed to the bogie mount and threaded through holes in a length of brass tube fixed to the bogie.

Thanks for the info about the gearbox for a Y7 - I've already got a Mashima 1015 and flywheel, and was thinking the Loadhauler compact would fit - I now know it does so will be on the 'phone to Chris Gibbon.

Phil

PS - Mick, the C7 looks good, and with a white metal body, should haul a good load as well. Any chance of some video when it's working for it's living?
