micklner
Another commision completed The lovely current Hornby B17 Sandringham converted to the Footballer class version Manchester United. No idea why the owner didnt want West Ham United ?? After much gritting of teeth she's finished. Pulling a repainted and lined Bachmann Tender, Westinghouse Pump removed . Cylinders Lined out. Detail pack not fitted as it has to be posted back to owner.

AdamOrmorod
I wish Hornby would hurry up and make a B17/6 with a group standard tender in apple green, seeing as the football association gave the class its nickname, and the B17/6 was the most common sub-class, which should (in theory) generate more sales than Hornby's apple green B17/1. I'm sure many would want a model of their chosen club, but wouldn't be able justify getting one in BR green because of their chosen time period. Jack P
Fantastic as always! What did the footballer conversion entail?
micklner
As per my listing Repainted tender etc quite a simple conversion , the lining is the bit that takes time.
micklner
C7 finished Latest commision a Crownline conversion kit for the LNER B12 using the Hornby body as a base. She will be teamed up with the Sandringham Tender left over from the earlier B17 Footballer conversion. No idea how they thought this one peiece bogie would go around any kind of bend ?? micklner
The fold up chassis is the same as the PDK A1/1 I have built , nice easy fold up design. However try the Drivers and there is almost no allowance for sideplay. I have had to file the axle bearings to a sliver just to get some sideplay , perhaps they designed them as display only
Nelson Jackson
Wow, that C7 is amazing, absolutely beautiful, well done

landscapes
Hi micklner Stunning work as always. Sorry but there is only one name for the B17 and that is Tottenham Hotspur, I was born in Tottenham and have supported them for the last 50 years. landscapes
They haven't been doing very well recently..... I know, I sometimes think it's me being a jinx on them, things can only get better. If I knew that was that case I would start supporting Arsenal. Hoping they finish in seventh place this season to get out of that Europa League which is the kiss of death playing on a Thursday evening. Anyway back to micklner's thread seeing the quality of work is always a pleasure to see. Regards David

Markeg
Hi Mick, Excellent work on the B17 and the C7. I like your lining, this does take time and yours is exemplary. Just to add my two bobs worth re: footballers. I changed Grimsby Town to Liverpool in BR though. Mark in OZ
