Trackrat
Is it by any chance Exmouth junction's sidings? If not, surely then it must be reception/run around loop at the London end behind morrison?

RMweb Gold Captain Kernow Posted December 7, 2014 Author RMweb Gold Share Posted December 7, 2014 Is it by any chance Exmouth junction's sidings? If not, surely then it must be reception/run around loop at the London end behind morrison? Finally, someone who knows, although I suspect 'insider knowledge', a bit like me! It is indeed Exmouth Jct - the old coal yard, which is to be sold off and redeveloped, not been used for rail for over 20 years.

RMweb Gold JohnR Posted December 7, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 7, 2014 Its a crying shame that the site isnt used for any useful railway purpose. I remember the old Loco shed coming down (too young to see it in steam) - or at least attempt to come down! The use as a coal concentration depot gave some freight activity to it, as well as stabling DMUs in between turns from time to time. Then an engineers yard I seem to recall. Now it seems to be comepletely disused. What do you see as the possibilities, Captain?
Trackrat
There are rumours knocking round about renewing the loop at the London end where DMUs currently wait from time to time.

RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted December 7, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 7, 2014 Well I have been past it a few times but the last time I actually went there there were still steam engines on shed, including a 2251 with snow plough - I think it's changed quite a bit since then.
