Popular Post Phill Dyson (onslaught832)
Hi All,Some of may remember my layout thread on the old RMweb. My railway is loosely based on the Ilfracombe branch in North Devon & consists of a terminus & fiddle yard in my garage with about 2 scale miles of branch line joining the two in my garden. The layout is 7mm scale & depicts two periods which are around 1969/70 with most hydraulics running & 1974/75 with just the Hymeks & Westerns left & diesel electrics making their presence felt. Here are a few pics of the line, I hope you like them........D824 Highflyer heading towards Withercombe with a van train.Hymek D7036 with a express of stretched Big Big Mk2's & a Lima BG onversion.Hymek D7013 crossing one of the girder bridges on the line.D807 Caradoc D1041 Western Prince doublehead a rake of MK2's towards Withercombe.Class 33 with a stone train. That's all for now.CheersPhill Edited July 4, 2018 by Phill Dyson (onslaught832)

Popular Post Phill Dyson (onslaught832)
Hi Phill, Just found your new thread. Great to see pics of the layout again and that rake of MK2s looks superb. Have you made any progress on the station in the garage? Cheers Peter. Hi Peter, Yes I'ts still very much a 'work in progress' but here's a few pics.... First we have the station throat area: This is the old goods yard & platform area. The goods yard at this time serves mainly as a store for P/Way wagons, but a little freight still uses it such as coal delivery's for the local coal man. This is the buffer stop area of the station.... & here we have the station car park which I have been working on this week...... The other side of the garage is occupied by the sector plate/fiddle yard...... That's all for now! jonny777
One thing that really gives the layout photos that extra edge of realism, is the close coupled stock, and the more prototypical radii curves. I must try and persuade Mrs Jonny777 that a garden railway is just what we need, although I fear that I can already predict her answer.
DavidB
Welcome back Phill - and what a cracking new thread. Lovin' the photos - doesn't get much better than 7mm hydraulics in the garden. I can almost hear the Maybachs! More please (much more!) - that Warship on the short rake of departmentals could be straight out of a John Vaughan album or one of those old Bradford Barton hydraulic-fests. Fabulous! Nice to see your Crompton in the fiddleyard. Cheers Peter. Thanks Peter, I do have another kit bashed crompton in the pipeline, but this time using a Heljan body & sprues & PRMRP bogie etches.....similar to Penguin of Dooms excellent work on RMWeb. Cheers Phill
P.C.M
Hi Phill, I would like to get a Heljan body myself as I still have a Nigel Stanley class 27 kit to do, and it looks like getting the old Lima class 33 body to look right will take a heap of work, Sean's class 27 looks superb. Cheers Peter.
Popular Post Phill Dyson (onslaught832)
A few more pics of the line First we see 807 Caradoc on a summer morning with a engineers working. The driver powers up, as we see Hymek 7017 from one of the over bridges with a late afternoon with a train of vans. The summer holiday extra's are a fading memory now......... autumn is upon us as we see Hymek D7013 with a parcels train. Now in the depths of winter we see my Westdale Bubble Car is all that is required 10 am Withercombe- Barnstaple service. Cheers Phill.
