Horsetan
The ones used for the Wisbech and Upwell system were similar, though I think the cabside windows were smaller, as they were the very early production machines.
chris bales
Yes your right the front windows too are a different shape on some. Have now fitted it with a spud motor under it. Had a ride on the footplate of a Yarmouth Union locomotive when i was seven { 50 years ago } my uncle Cecil new the driver. From the Vauxhall yard to the scrap yard at the top end of the docks
RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted September 14, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 14, 2014 Hi Chris The Yarmouth trams had small cab side windows and those odd shaped Drewry buffers. Here are my 3 trams.
chris bales
Hi Clive Seen these before my friend superb jobs, Can i ask what motor chassis have you used under them ? the far one looks like a kit built loco Have found a photo of the Yarmouth dock line
RMweb Premium Clive Mortimore Posted September 14, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted September 14, 2014 Hi Chris The Wisbeach has Mainline/Bachmann 03 split chassis. The other two are running as 0-4-0s with a Tri-ang Nellie chassis, a proper 1960's type conversion. One day they will get a 0-6-0 chassis but every time I have one spare I seem to build something else to bung on it. Looking at the photo of D2211 next to D2225, the cab profiles are different.....that means both my Wisbeach and Yarmouth trams are wrong. Every day is a school day. Here are my 3 trams. 002a.jpg The Rail Photoprints set have a very clear picture of D2201, which was one of the Wisbech locos. The shot shows the front windows to be smaller as you say and square. Some years ago I bought the Impetus etched brass conversion kit to be used on a Dapol/ Airfix 04, which includes a new cab etch with this feature - perhaps one day I'll get round to building it! The mid '90's "Modelling Diesels" book by Tim Shackleton has this conversion as one of its worked projects. John.
chris bales
Hi Again Just to add a photo of the finished loco. And a re- worked Bachmann Junior Charlie shunter
chris bales
Now a Bachmann 04 re-work. Cow catchers made from ratio spear fencing and micro-strip { As per Clive } slatters card skirts Still not quite looking as it should but i am happy with it. Unfortunatley runs with a waddle a problem that often comes to pass with the 04s wheel sets. Have a Silverfox steam tram on order to run along side this and looking forward to this arriving when John has finished it { Yes the photo doe's show that the frame dirt has been over done this needs toning down the flash makes it look worse then it is }
EHertsGER
All There will be an etched conversion kit pretty much in the same vein as the old Impetus kit - skirts, cowcatchers, replacement cab and so on released some time towards the end of this year/early next (not that far away already!). Anyone interested, please let me know as I am producing this for my own amusement, but of course any subsidy in terms of sales would be welcome and hopefully help a few folks along the way. Best, Marcus
david65061
Marcus I certainly would be interested in a tram conversion kit. Please put me down for one. Will it contain an etched chassis? regards David
EHertsGER
Marcus I certainly would be interested in a tram conversion kit. Please put me down for one. Will it contain an etched chassis? regards David No, the chassis is already done (for me, at least); Chris at High Level has set the standard for this - and more or less any other chassis. A simpler version that is just as workable, just less detail, is produced by Branchlines.

EHertsGER
Hi Marcus, Were there any further developments with the etched conversion kit? regards Tony Tony et al My apologies; my attention has been diverted to 'other things', both model railway related and business in general. I have however, produced an etched kit for the ex-GER F4/5/6 to suit the Gibson body (see Rumney models about that one) and some GER wagon transfers (but see my notes re the 'Fox' initiative); the Clas 31 spring bogies are done but being test built. My excuse, if any, is that I may have over-stretched myself. However, the plan is still on my desk somewhere, so it will happen. Maybe next year...(be fair, we have the J15 and N7 chassis to work through yet...) I hope this is not too much of a disappointment.
