Ceptic
Brockenhurst's new footbridge & lifts Took a journey break, yesterday. These shots were taken from the Down platform. Photos of new work, at other locations, would be more than welcome. Edited 22/08/2014, to add pics. of the previous structure. A list of NR's improvements, planned, in progress and completed, can be found here. http://www.networkrail.co.uk/improvements/access-for-all/stations All the best, Ceptic. Ceptic
Southampton Airport Parkway. New footbridge + lifts. Completed in 2010. Replacing the Southern style, pre-cast concrete footbridge at the southern end of the platforms. (Always a hurdle, laden down with luggage, let alone being wheelchair bound) All the best, Ceptic. RMweb Gold TheSignalEngineer Posted August 20, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted August 20, 2014 Lifts and footbridge provided at Marple in 2012, and the bridge that was replaced. Photographs C E Steele Seems that the Northern passengers are a bit more hardy than those in the places pictured above, but I suppose if you commute every day in a Nodding Donkey you need to be, and I suppose it is a long way from Westminster and only about 1000 people cross the bridge on an average day. eastwestdivide
Strood's new bridge currently under construction, replacing a horrible subway. Only a mobile phone pic, but struck lucky with the sunshine and the locos, 10 mins before my train back north.

Jim Martin
No pics, but there's a ton of work going on to provide lifts up to the platforms at Berkhamsted. I'm not certain how they'll be accessed at street level - presumably off the existing subway - but you can see the works at the extreme south end of the platforms. I'm there tomorrow (my mother lives there) so if I can get round by the station I'll try and get a photo or two. Jim
Rivercider
When I first knew Taunton station around 1970 the middle island platforms were out of use, in the 1980s the Taunton area re-signalling scheme saw them brought back into passenger use albeit with very limited facilities. The lift up from the subway level was installed in 2007, here is a not very good shot showing the lift building on the left 150265 stands in platform 3 waiting to form a service to Cardiff, 150130 on platform 2 is working the 09.00 Cardiff - Plymouth service, 18/9/2013 edit and a view of the front of the lift building seen 27/8/2014 cheers
