Liam
Today was the first time I popped in to Footplate for at least six years! Because I was visiting during the layover time at Kidderminster it was just a whistle-stop visit, but Derek was very friendly, and now I am reconnected to Footplate after all these years! Guest Midland Mole @ Footplate
Thought this might be of interest to people on here, a stunning scratchbuilt OO gauge model of Kidderminster Town station on the SVR. This was built for a customer but we can get one built for anyone who wanted it for £750. We can get any building you want built from scratch provided you can supply us with prototype photos.
Liam
Wow Alex, what an amazing model! I can just imagine myself 76 times smaller and sat outside the Valley suite. But £750, well, that's a tad out of my price range.

RMweb Gold gwrrob Posted September 29, 2017 RMweb Gold Share Posted September 29, 2017 Wow Alex, what an amazing model! I can just imagine myself 76 times smaller and sat outside the Valley suite. Phil Parker
For the amount of work that has gone into that building, £750 seems very low. Remember that a chunk of that goes to the taxman, there are materials and overheads such as workspace and equipment to factor in too. By the time you get to the actual payment for time, it looks too cheap for the quality...
Guest Midland Mole @ Footplate
There's a lot of hours work gone into that build. From the commission to finished model took a month, not sure how many actual hours though. For the amount of work that has gone into that building, £750 seems very low. Remember that a chunk of that goes to the taxman, there are materials and overheads such as workspace and equipment to factor in too. By the time you get to the actual payment for time, it looks too cheap for the quality... Could not agree more! John is an absolute artist when it comes to buildings, and when you look at them in the flesh it just takes your breath away. I have shed made by him and will probably get him to make my station when it comes to it (albeit a smaller one than Kidderminster ). Alex
Liam
Is 4mm real ale available in the 4mm King and Castle? You'd have a lot of trouble drinking it though, drinking it out of pint glasses 7mm in height!

Liam
Some very tempting items there Alex. The Thompsons look superb in the teak livery, as I saw the other week at Kidderminster. Out of interest, do you know when the car flats are supposed to be released and what the price of them is?

As far as I know early next year, with prices between £35-45 (some come with vehicles). Alex

Guest Midland Mole @ Footplate
A few photos Derek took at Warley of some of the most anticipated upcoming models from Bachmann, including the stunning first EPs of the fully working breakdown cranes. I also spent a little while talking to the chaps from Bachmann at the stand and was very impressed with what I saw and heard. Not pictured but absolutely exquisite in the flesh is the new OO9 range, the look and running qualities of which are astounding.
