Jonathan Apparently there have been "problems" caused by the weather and poor ground - much of the land has been mined so they had to check what they could build where. I think that like everything else building work only proceeds at a very slow pace. At least they are now doing crew training runs, the latest story is that they might be able to open a bit sooner, but I'll believe that when I see it. RMweb Gold Market65 Posted Saturday at 17:58 RMweb Gold Share Posted Saturday at 17:58 Good evening, David. That’s a fantastic set of photo’s of the Midland line between Nottingham and Newark at Lowdham and Thurgarton. I particularly like the first photo’ of the station buildings at Lowdham, in August, 1972. A beautiful portrait of them. The photo’s of the Blyth and Tyne are a superb selection. C14575, at Cambois, of track machine DR72201, on the 26th July, 1990, is a delightful photo’ with the machine by Plasser and Theurer, USP 5000 C, in the centre of the composition with good details to be seen. Very best regards, Rob.

RMweb Gold Market65 Posted Sunday at 17:01 RMweb Gold Share Posted Sunday at 17:01 Good evening, David. That’s an excellent selection of photo’s of Harescombe and Headingly. J2891, at Harescombe, with Class 45 No 30, on a down express passenger train, in April, 1972, is a superb photo’, and shows a typical train of Mkl’s hauled by a Peak. The black and white photo’s of Trent are a fantastic set. In particular I like the last photo’ of Jubilee, 45608, Gibraltar, on a Bradford and Leeds to St Pancras service, in December, 1954. A classic scene, and thank you for posting it. Very best regards, Rob.

RMweb Gold Market65 Posted Monday at 17:25 RMweb Gold Share Posted Monday at 17:25 Good evening, David. That’s a superb set of photo’s of the Midland Railway. J5438, at Willington Junction, with Class 46 46116, on a Plymouth to Sheffield cross country service, in August, 1976, is an excellent composition of the train by your Dad. The photo’s of the ECML north of York at Pilmoor and Raskelf are an excellent selection. In particular I like the last photo’ at Raskelf, with a Class 55, D9018, on a Kings Cross to Scotland express in July, 1966, a beautiful shot of the Deltic at speed. If the photo’ was taken on a Sunday, according The Napier Chronicles, the train, 1A28, went as far as Edinburgh, or Aberdeen during the week. RMweb Premium Mol_PMB Posted Monday at 18:07 RMweb Premium Share Posted Monday at 18:07 C022 - at first sight I thought 'that tamper's on more than just the wrong line - it's the wrong side of the fence in the long grass!'. Then I looked more closely... Interesting photo, tampers have grown a lot over the years. I don't know if Matisa still have their first machine as a 'gate guardian' at the Lausanne factory, but I remember that on a few visits 20-odd years ago. Not too different from the 'Stefcomatic' on the Ffestiniog that was a former SR machine regauged.
