RMweb Gold Market65 Posted January 2 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 2 Good evening, David. That’s a great assortment of photo’s. J1698, at Castle Donnington, with Class 20, D8111, leading, and another one, on a down freight, in May, 1969, being a beautiful composition by your Dad. The batch of extra photo’s is superb, and the first one is an excellent shot at Trent, with 2P, 40332, piloting a Jubilee, on a down express passenger train, in c1954. The zoom has beautifully exaggerated the curve in the track, to the left of the Jubilee, after the single slip. The photo’s of Swayfield, on the ECML, are a perfect set. C1614, of a Class 47, on an up empty cement train, in May, 1974, being a splendid shot of a ‘train in the landscape’. With warmest regards, Rob.

RMweb Gold Market65 Posted January 3 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 3 Good evening, David. That’s a great selection of photo’s of Switzerland on the 12th and 13th August, 1988, at Interlaken Ost and West at the time of the BLS 75th anniversary celebrations. C10983, at Interlaken West, of Ae3/6i, 10439, on the 13th August, 1988, is excellent, and a well composed shot of the locomotive. The photo’s of the High Dyke branch and Colsterworth Iron Ore Quarry, are a superb set. J3139, at Colsterworth No 2 quarry, looking towards Woolsthorpe and lorry road to Woolsthorpe No3, and hut for tipping dock, in February, 1973, is a fascinating view, with the crane filling up the end wagon. RMweb Gold Market65 Posted January 4 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 4 Good evening, David. That’s a fantastic set of photo’s of Beamish Museum's pit village on the 2nd September, 2011. DSC_5256, of Peckett and Hudswell Clarke, 67, ex-Manchester Ship Canal, is an excellent portrait shot of the locomotive. The photo’s of the Southern are an excellent selection from the odds and ends you have left from May, 2016 to May, 2017. C4618, at Appledore, of Class 205, 1117, in July, 1979, is a well composed photo’ of the unit. With warmest regards, Rob.
35A
Good evening, David. I'm just catching up on all of the good things posted since Christmas Eve. Regarding Tuesday's postings, I've spotted the following: J3012 - is a Class 08, rather than an 09. All of the 09s were Southern-based and had high level pipes, for compatibility, so are quite easy to spot. The remaining three Class 10s at March had all been withdrawn by August 1972, the last ones going earlier that year. C1751 - is 55 013 "THE BLACK WATCH", given away by the lack of nameplate crest. Coincidentally, there is a photograph on "The Chronicles of Napier" of the same loco on the same train, a few days earlier. C3878 - is our old friend 55 022 "ROYAL SCOTS GREY", the only remaining Haymarket single line nameplate Deltic which had not had its headcode panel plated over by May 1978 (and, of course, identifiable by the different-shaped front footstep, fitted into the former headlight recess). Happy New Year (if a bit belated!).

RMweb Gold Market65 Posted January 5 RMweb Gold Share Posted January 5 Good evening, David. That’s a great set of photo’s of the Great Eastern. C4634, at Shenfield, with 312785, on a passenger train from Colchester to Liverpool St. in July, 1979, is an excellent and well composed photo’ of the electric unit. The photo’s of the GNR Grantham to Nottingham line are a fascinating selection. J1429, at Aslockton, with Class 37, D6830, on a westbound coal train, in September, 1968, is a superb and powerful looking shot of the 37 that Triang Hornby modelled for many years. It has eight windows, so it's not a First Open but a dia.56 Second* Open (14 built) or dia.92 Restaurant Second* Open (21 built). * They would have been Thirds when built in 1951-2, reclassified Second in 1956. The SR 'Boat' Second opens to dia. 90 were similar, but with a door in one of the centre bays. Edited January 5 by BernardTPM

It's one of dad's photos and all the information I have is in the caption. It doesn't even seem right for a train terminating at York. David
