RMweb Gold Market65 Posted November 30, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted November 30, 2023 Good evening, David. That’s a great selection of photo’s from Teesside, at Thornaby, Cargo Fleet and British Steel Redcar station. The first photo’ at Thornaby, with 156469, on a service to Middlesborough, on the 14th April, 1993, being an excellent composition, and it’s interesting to see the line of locomotives in various conditions, in the near background. The photo’s of the Midland between Leeds and Skipton, with one at Embsay Junction, are a fascinating set. The last photo’ at Embsay Junction, with BR Class 4, 75041, on a freight from Grassington to Skipton, in May, 1966, being a delightful photo’ and once again showing the neglect of steam in those final years. With warmest regards, Rob.

RMweb Gold Market65 Posted December 1, 2023 RMweb Gold Share Posted December 1, 2023 Good evening, David. That’s a superb set of photo’s at Toton fom 1964, 1977 and 1979, and Liverpool Riverside station, in May, 1969, along with Whitehouse, looking west, towards Middlesbrough, on the 31st July, 1986. The first photo’, at Toton, of LNER B1, 61196, in June, 1964, is a beautiful portrait shot the locomotive at rest. The photo’ of Whitehouse, is an excellent shot, and the line on the left has a bad join between the point and the straight track, which must have caused sudden lurches as trains passed over it. The black and white photo’s, on the WCML, around Rugby, are truly excellent. JVol2008, of Class 5, 44523, on a down express passenger, in c1954, is a most delightful photo’ of the Black Five and train. A quite typical LMR scene from the 1950’s. Lots of photographs of 9 show that it still had twin windscreen wipers and sandbox filler flaps, into 1978. I think that it might be 7 (which had neither). Actually, looking through the racehorses on "Napier Chronicles", 18 was in works in August 1977 and all of the others, bar 7, still had twin wipers (although some had had the sandbox fillers removed).
