The Bigbee Line
With some suitable coaches a couple of these loco's could form the core roster for a suburban layout.
RMweb Gold PaulRhB Posted March 19, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 19, 2014 This is one of those 'it doesn't fit with anything I model but I do want one' moments that's much faster than I expected.
metmangraham
Found this on facebook for those interested.... Looks good. I wonder how many and what liveries/variants will be produced - and the price. Can't wait ... but must. Graham

Mark Dickerson
Oooohhhh. I wasn't expecting this that soon. Others more expert will be along soon, no doubt, but to me the bogies look good and the grilles need that Heljan Class 16 magic, but...count me in. Roy P
sounds about right as they can showcase them at Warley...... Agreed; but I'm hoping they'll confirm the livery and detail options before then to give us a taster and them some entries in the order book. This will, if all goes to plan, be one of very few models that my son and I will want different versions of for very different reasons. It doesn't happen very often but that's the joy! He gets to appreciate the finer points of my NRM specials and I, in return get to stare in wonder at his class 70 diesel. Between us we've got this one covered. johnb
Now that looks very good, I'd want a grey one and the later LT maroon. Better start saving then
RMweb Gold The Stationmaster Posted March 21, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 21, 2014 Have they got a licence for LT liveries yet ( I heard some time back that they hadn't but that was a while ago).
RMweb Gold Ian Hargrave Posted March 22, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted March 22, 2014 It does not fit with anything I model but I want one! Looks really good. Indeed,it does look to be shaping into another Heljan winner.Much criticism has been heaped upon this company but remember that all things Danish (fans of Sara Lund and "The Bridge" stand up and shout it loud....I am one) are on a roll .They are beginning to steal a march on the blues and reds with the Garratt and the O2 not to mention the tasty 128 and Baby DelticsQuestion is what do you run with this little beauty? No passenger stock is to hand, thus it has to be an engineers train I assume?Any ideas.?Once had an exhilarating ride behind one in1960.....got on the wrong train to Paddington by mistake. That's another story..the loco hauled stock was quaint, even then.

They used to operate goods trains into Vine Street Depot at Farringdon. The depot could only handle about a dozen wagons and the trains were about 5 wagons max + brake van. BrushVeteran
Have they got a licence for LT liveries yet ( I heard some time back that they hadn't but that was a while ago). I don't think that this comment has any relevance to this forum. Whilst researching this subject with full collaboration from the LT Museum, Heljan were made well aware of the licensing procedure and the contacts for permissions etc. I don't think that the end user will be too interested in licensing agreements as long as the model suits their requirements! kintbury jon
Sarah Siddons did a number of railtours on the SR. Can't find any photos though. Here are a few shots of L12 with an NSE VEP. http://www.networksoutheast.net/other-photos.html

I think Stationmaster's question about licence was valid. LT are very hot on this. In this day and age, permissions and licencing are very important. A simple yes, would have sufficed. Look at the recent Dapol Class 68 agreement and CFPS large logo Class 40 mentioned elsewhere. I was told the Barnwell team had been sniffing around the LT museums and depots as well.
RMweb Premium Bernard Lamb Posted March 22, 2014 RMweb Premium Share Posted March 22, 2014 Cool it chaps. Brush Veteran obviously has a reason for the wording used in his post. He probably is more aware of the situation than any body else on here. The one time I raised a query on a Heljan product he provided me with an explanation when nobody else had even noticed the problem. Bernard

I would have thought it had quite a lot of relevance actually - they either have permission to use LT liveries or they don't and either they will be legitimately able to produce them or they won't. And that might be of considerable relevance to someone who happens to want or fancy the loco in a particular livery. Simple question to which there is, presumably, a simple answer? And that might be of considerable relevance to someone who happens to want or fancy the loco in a particular livery. Simple question to which there is, presumably, a simple answer? The simple answer would be that as a respected manufacturer I expect Heljan will have this covered. I agree with Brush Veteran, legal details have no place on this forum, and we have absolutely no entitlement to be privy to the details of a private licencing contract between Heljan (or anyone else) and TfL. I would suggest that we simply wait for the livery announcements from Heljan. Any licence details (for those who really want to know!) will need to be be published at that time.
