pwr
Don't forget there is a stream running in quite a deep channel next to the platform which is why the shelter was buit on stilts Paul R

Jack00
One more for the Down platform. Will get on and do the Up platform. Lamp Room.jpg Peter, thankyou for scanning these in and posting them, they are very detailed and will put me in good stead on building the structures for the layout. Much appreciated! Bodgit, thanks is that my new nickname? People often call me other things like: Deano (a character off irish comedy Mrs.Bworns boys!) Don't ask haha! Or jackaroo hence the RMweb name Jack00. Anyway...lots to do on the layout but have to wait until payday as I spent my money in beer yesterday. Oops! All the best Jack
Jack00
Here are the scans for the Down platform. Again they have been reduced to fit on RMweb. The ones labelled Section refer to the cross sections shown on the Ground Plan. Again apologies some had to be scanned in two parts. HAHHAH Andy Andy it's surprising that memebers have so much info and photos of the prototype, when I started the layout I had no idea I would get this much feedback and info, which is great. Jack00
Finally, some progress. Ive been working on some road vehicles and car park junk. Actually quite fun activities Jack
Jack00
http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/u/uckfield/index1.shtml Found more photo's of Uckfield on this webpage. Which has rekindled my enthusiasm. Over the next few days, I will start to draw up plans for the station building and goods shed. Jack
Jack00
Started making a mock-up of the station building for Uckfield. Copied from the plans on page 2. The skeleton will be made strong, then layers added later on. I plan to model some of the interior using scalescenes or similar. The canopy will also be included, even though they didn't survive in the time period intended. Jack
Jack00
Another shot in good light. With the siphone 'G' just to show the size a bit better. Where the shelter is sat in the photo will be the end of the building and the start of the goods shed. Which will allow some shunting of wagons, perhaps a 33/47 with a few dogfish. Nothing fancy. Jack00
Well, im going to get stuck into the layout soon. I have 3 days off work after tomorrow. Very keen to redesign the baseboards, using the 6mm ply and polyfoam sandwich style. (Used on one of my side projects) then carve the landscape out, which will also enable the brook and shelter 'on stilts' to be modelled. I'll add loads of pictures of progress. RMweb Gold Oldddudders Posted May 23, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 23, 2014 http://www.transport-of-delight.com/UK/BritishRail/Diesel/jpgs/Selsdon%20-%201.jpg Another link, a class 33 on fuel tanks on the Oxted line, 1977. Jack Well, only just on the Oxted Line, TBH. This is Selsdon Junction, the lines nearest us are to South Croydon Junction, on the Brighton Main Line. As you can see, the train is on the "wrong" line, and is shunting the tanks - destination Selsdon. Sadly tank trains didn't in my recollection get much further down the Oxted Line. RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted May 23, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 23, 2014 (edited) I remember passing them at Selsdon but never got chance to get photos. Ian Edited May 23, 2014 by roundhouse
Jack00
Hello Ian & Ian. It was a long shot to model the 33's on fuel, and would look a little out of place, but none the less, a great photo. Just some dogfish/grumpas In the sidings for me I think. Also, didn't realise DC kits did the 207. Now that I want to model! Jack
RMweb Gold roundhouse Posted May 23, 2014 RMweb Gold Share Posted May 23, 2014 The DC Kits are nice. Although the the etched roof panel on the 205 was too long on my one and I didn't realise until I had built it then noticed that the fan was sitting over the passenger seats!.
Jack00
There are a few topics on here. Looks like a good kit. And not bad on price either, KMRC's commission is very nice but already have the 205, so 207 or even a tadpole would be a nice addition to the Uckfield fleet. Jack00
Just found a brilliant YouTube video. Explains how I want Uckfield to operate perfectly. Starting to like the 70's/80's period a bit more now. Blue thumpers with FYE's Jack
