The question is, which one measures exactly like that. A full broadside photo of a B1 would come in handy as I can compare the lengths of the connection rod, eccentric rod and valve rod with the known coupling rod lengths. How about this one from Flickr (Old Ganian image)? Simon Edited July 27 by 65179

RMweb Premium Izzy Posted July 27 Author RMweb Premium Share Posted July 27 Okay. Don't know how useful this info will be Chris but it might help you. I put the Hewson drawing through Photoshop to get a 1:148 copy which I then printed out. Laying the Farish B1 body on it seemed to show they matched up pretty well. Can't see too well in this shot because of the usual camera distortion. Laying the individual Farish motion parts on it showed they also matched. Just for interest here are the crossheads. Will need some care with drilling for pins etc. as with the Royal Scot and Ivatt 2MT but will be worth it. And the motion bracket. This is in two parts and moulded plastic, the front part being solid. So some work will also be needed to alter them to suit. Or replacements made in metal. I shall see how things go when I get to this stage. I rather feel metal will be the way I go, we'll see. So, as to motion sizes here are the Farish main bits laid out with rough dimensions. They may not be totally accurate but by eyesight I find that I can only really see and mark work accurately to the nearest 0.25mm and then hone to suit. Apart from the coupling rods of course the odd 0.1mm isn't really that crucial. The rod figures are those which I made my chassis to which again matches the Farish original. Chris Higgs
All redrawn now to match the Hewson drawing, Demonstrating the valve rod and lifting arm in mid-gear and (I think) full reverse.

No, that is full forward gear. Chris

Thank you very much Chris, really appreciated, I'll look forward to getting some once they arrive. Do I take it they might be available through shop 3 as a stock item, or just a one off run direct from yourself? Put me down for a couple if the latter please! Bob It has been decided that the B1 motion etch will be an item direct from me, on a one-off basis. Chris
