Morning Gents

Okay so here are the 'naked' pictures of the new washing shed (its raining so priming delayed!).

Front view in position. The covered stairs and platform will be glued in after the painting stage, hence the odd angles!

Looking from the other end.

Now with a bullet parked up in the 'washing position'. There are skylights but these are masked ready for painting at the moment.

Once the paint is on and all glued up there will be a few additional bits added as per the the one at Quidhampton that this has been very loosely based on.

Look forward to the pictures Ian; when you start weathering it park my WC 33 next to it!

Day pass has been given for Saturday by the way.

Morning mate, I will get to it soon! Good news about next week I'll be there for about 11.30-12 if that's OK? (Henley run first!)

I know this is possibly a little late

A little but sod's law of course!

Do you know if it is just a repaint of their 64ft suburban, as that rides a bit too high in comparison to the Bachmann 2H? The roof vents needs changing too, which I've replaced on my version using MJT castings and I have also replaced the ones on the 2H coaches to so that they all look the same, but I haven't posted a pic of them yet.

Ian, really enjoyed your progress on Tidworth.  Your posts have inspired me to finish my Dyserth exhibition layout.

Sorry fella missed your post yesterday. Thanks for your interest and glad I somehow inspired you, are there pics of Dyserth here I don't think I've come across it?

Great work Ian. Been following for a little while but it just gets better and better! Love the 2H 3H, btw...

Morning all,

Another two weeks passes by! The wash shed has been painted and both it and the loader have been weathered today as well as final gluing done ready for mounting permanently on the layout.

Both of these structures will get some more treatment once everything is in place and a final weathering to pull it all together.

33035 waits patiently for the bullet's washing cycle to finish.

'35 waits again for the loading phase to finish.

Also over this weekend I've been giving this some treatment for the Campbell Road foreman, and it should have a path back this Wednesday evening.

That's all for now folks, except to say I have placed the order for the signalling equipment for the Tidworth area, stay tuned!

Morning all,

Yes another two silent weeks pass by, but I haven't been idle! The signals arrived within a couple of days from CR signals so last weekend and this I have used what time I've had to get them fitted and wired up. At close of play this Sunday the yard has 6 ground signals installed and working and all the routes have been re-programmed into the Prodigy system to include switching of signals with the points! The only signal not fitted at this point is the 3-aspect starter for the platform road for which I need to knock up a gantry.

Note to "The Tidworth on the road crew", the number of routes has expanded from 11 to 20 so further training and revision will be required early in the New Year, so we will have to set up a date for a layout shakedown especially as there's only 118 days to go!

Afternoon chaps

Just a quick update for Christmas before I dash off to Exford Park to grab a pic or two of the annual "Network Santa" railtour passing through especially as it will be the last one!

Overview of the Left hand 'country end' of Tidworth with nameboard that will eventually be located on a fascia board of the lighting rig.

View of the platform end.

With a little less than 4 months until the debut exhibition I need to build a station building, an oil storage tank for the fuel road as well as a small shelter for the pump. After that the area can be blitzed with ground cover and general greenery in one hit, finish off the road and add all the small details to the station etc not to mention the lighting rig/fascia, boy am I going to be busy!

Now the latest additions, ground signals...

Two GPLS controlling movements out of the yard.

Two more at the run round crossovers.

Points set and lights clear to run into the platform headshunt.

128_GPLSret_241214.jpg.899b5c8199bc0d75bcd73fb9895c2bd1.jpg

Points and signal now clear to run back through the platform. Although it appears the signaller in Salisbury has not been made aware of the Prodigy handset across all lines!

Compliments of the season to one and all and look out for the railtour later.  ;)  :locomotive:
